Under pressure from Congress over privacy and health risks, the TSA is removing all full-body x-ray scanners from U.S. airports. Good move?

Or a surgically implanted bomb. Not to give the hajjis any ideas.

How about we willingly sacrifice you instead, and keep our privacy? That sounds better to me. Lol.

Do some research on accidental shootings and general law-breaking by carry permit holders. The rates are minuscule compared to the general populace. The fact is, carry permit holders tend to avoid confrontation, tend to be more polite, and tend to be more knowledgable of the law than most citizens.

I don't really care about them seeing my shit. As long as they hire people who are cool if they see something embarrassing. Plus, it is not like they are trying to find your (as an example for lack of finding a better one.) dildo.

I agree mitwiser! If everyone has concealed weapons, aren't we becoming the "wild, wild, west" again,.. It's just going to come to people shooting people on the basis "we'll, I thought they were getting out their gun". But really, they had an itch...

I think, do what it takes to make my flight safer. In today's world, no one knows who could be planning to harm.

You're solution is to bring guns on airplanes? Really?

My mom has a fake knee. She goes through the scanner (by choice!) because it saves her a huge amount of time & she doesn't have to have someone partially disrobing her & unnecessarily feeling her body...just to find out she has metal in her knee. It's unfortunate that will no longer be an option.

Those body scanners don't detect anything under the skin anyway.

Adalaa, you don't watch the news much do you? remember the guy with the explosive shoes? how about the guy with the explosive underwear? the granny arrested for sneaking the loaded gun onto the flight? TSA sure stopped all of them alright.

If you want to protect people, lobby to allow carry permit holders to carry in the airport.

This is disheartening to learn. I feel safer with those machines. I'm all for protecting people from harmful chemicals, rays etc but I thought the potential harm from these machines wer inconsequential?

Idgaf if a TSA agent sees my naked body. It's not like he/she is my preacher or anything. I'd rather congress focus on more important things going on in our country than people's insecurities about their cellulite

I live n work in AK. It's a pain the ass when when the company has their own plane for their workers. Everyone knows everyone. We talk about we should be the exception bc we fly often. Seen the movie "the grey?" That's where I fly to n from except we don't crash.

reasonableness test by constitution is measured by what a reasonable person would believe is reasonable, which would also speak to a majority and what a reasonable person would believe would be an intrusion of their privacy and since millions fly everyday subjecting themselves to searches any

So, lets start with the "flabby" statement. What if your not? Still no concern? Because lord knows there has never been a case of a person using bad judgement and ruining someone else's life. No one ever breaks laws so who would be at risk. If the TSA has stopped ALL attempts, we don't need them.

Not true! Look at my bod all you want, but I refuse to be xrayed by an un regulated machine. It is NOT safe. I get the porno pat down. The women TSA who feel me up are more embarrassed than I am! I am very busty and could easily hide something under my breast... They glide right over.

And absurd as some of the rules are, how many terrorists have the TSA stopped since 9/1? ALL of them. Not one hijacking, not one bombing.

Kind of stupid to criticize complete success.

They're getting the boot because of our ridiculous (and largely undeserved) sense of modesty. You think anyone actually wants to ogle the flabby bodies that come through hour after hour, day after day? Grow up.

The machines are very effective. We used them in Iraq. You can't conceal so much as a paper clip on your person. They're also completely safe... They form an image by bouncing low-dose radiation OFF your skin. You get more exposure from high altitude during the flight.

Just so you guys know, a tsa employee could easily go terrorist and blow up an airport. THEY dont have to go through SECURITY! Somehow just because they wear that stupid blue uniform, people trust them more. Well you know what, i trust them about as much as i trust any joe on the street.

No. I don't believe giving into fear ever helps anything. This stuff may calm peoples nerves but a terrorist is still gonna be a terrorist. Terrorists goals are to inflict terror into people. When we give away all our freedoms for an imaginary sense of safety were just letting them win.

I don't understand how. my board shorts had metal coated draw strings and they pulled me aside because my avatar had a red alert signal near my pants area.

Read the rules before you pack. The price for the item is far less than your lives. If it wasn't your mom... It was someone else and that fluid was a biochemical agent, then you'd be thankful they took it.

I was in the military so I know about brainwashing. They even transported us on occasion in cattle trucks...I know the difference. I logically see this as simply a means for providing safety after a tragedy. The entire world is not always out to suppress your rights.

Infact, the body scans have proven most ineffective under independent testing. Many, many times, subjects were able to pass weapons through, undetected.
