If you were coloring your hair, would you get it done professionally or DIY?
pro all the way, I have purple streaks in my hair and I used to have pink, both professional peeps did and it lasts a long time (:
Professionals tell me I did a good job! My hair is three colors that are layered, mostly red(natural) on top, blonde in the middle and black underneath :D
problem with at homes, they often look someone took a bottle of shoe polish to their heads
every 8 weeks w/o fail
Mind this funny to me because I shave my head :)
just be natural
DIY if it's a touch up or darker color. Professionally if it has anything to do with bleach or going lighter. I love my hair too much to risk it. But I have my natural color with just a few highlights once in a while, so I can afford to get them done professionally twice a year or so.
if I have the time professional.. if not ill do it my self. but since my best friend is in beauty school I'm more than likely to go there to help her out.
Still dark brown at 62, a little silver coming in. I'd do it my self if I did anything
to go darker I do it myself. to go lighter or blonde definitely professional!
My hair is long and wavy so it would be a real hassle and mess to do it myself at home. I'd rather get it professionally done and done right. I help my brother dye his hair at home since he has short hair.
if I had hair
Well not only is my aunt the one I would go to, but someone I know tried to do it himself and now he has red hair, now I don't think I would be dumb enough to do that but it's not worth my soul.
Well, if I'm dying it either dark brown or some bizarre color. it's not worth going to a salon for something like that.
its very unlikely I'm ever going to change my hair. its the most attractive thing about me
I mean 16 and 16
26 people in Maine don't trust themselves with scissors and the other 26 watched Sweeney Todd and Edward Scissorhands
Ive dyed hair extentions myself and it looked like a dog crapped on them so I wpuld definitly get it done perfessionally
Color it? Why? I earned each and every grey hair
wow! I always do it myself. maybe once a yr I go pro for some artistic concoction
What do you mean if? I already do it myself.
My natural salt and pepper is just fine.
Boy, we have some cranky people today.
It depends if Im going lighter or darker. Darker is easy to do on your own, lighter takes more steps and there is more room for error
How would you dye a high n tite ?
@ Holybabble. You should change your name to blather.
Professional cause I never dyed my hair except some blue stuff that didn't turn out. My sister tries to do hers but it dnt turn out right either. We have dark hair and it almost seems we can't go lighter only darker. But I kno a pro could do it.
I don't dye my hair frequently, but once summer comes and I want a lighter fresher look, I'll shell out the money and head to the salon for some highlights
This is just as annoying as the wine question. If you don't have a pertinent answer to the question, then simply don't answer.
If my job wasn't so picky I'd really like to do my top layer purple and the bottom layer teal. I think it would look really pretty and pop nicely...but wild hair is a no-no in customer relations for car sales! :(
Dying ones hair has been something both men and women have been doing for ages. All of you men making statements that hint at how I un-masculine dying your hair would be need to get over yourselves. Women like men with security, not silly baseless biases.
I'd turn in my Man Card if I dyed my hair.
I always do it myself. I've dyed it blue, purple, blonde(just for a couple weeks to come back from purple), and now I'm a very dark brown with reddish tones(not high lights, it's all one color).
It's easier, quicker, and cheaper to do it myself.
Have been home coloring since I was 15. Then it was for fun now I need to cover the grey.
If I wasn't over 60 I'd have rainbow hair too. Of course, probably no nursing career, but I'd have fun with the hair color.
I do it myself. If you buy the right products and know what you're doing it's totally worth it. Plus you're in the comfort of your own home, not a noisy gossip-y salon!
Only my hairdresser knows for sure.
I dye my own hair when it's an easy color change like blond to brown. But when I'm going from dark to light I prefer to have it done by a pro.
Why would I color my hair?
I dye my hair by my self all the time. At the moment it has blue, pinkish purple, and green in it. Every one loves rainbows!
I dye my hair bright pink and I always just do it myself
I do it myself because I can't afford to have it done. I also do my BFF's hair, too.
I keep flirting with doing it, but Im too chickenshyt. But if I do, I'm gonna do it professionally first then DIY if I like the results
I always do it myself (15 years now) because my hair grows so fast. Can't afford to pay $50 and up a visit if I'm going every three weeks!
My sister is a pro, so if I need any hair maintenance I go to her.
I have red hair that I absolutely love so dyes rarely touch my hair. When I have highlighted my hair in the past I talked my hubby into doing it. He did a great job too.
DYI was a disaster. Had yellow hair for months
My hair is too dark for most colors to really be effective, so it would have to be done by a pro. Plus, coloring my hair at home is too messy!
well, I don't really have any desire to color my hair, but if I did, I definitely wouldn't try doing it myself hahah
