What features do you wish were on this app but are not?

Maybe it's only me but I wish they could fix the glitch with the "new" tab (polls don't show up)

I don't know that issue.

In the notifications, I only want to see who has replied to my responses and when I have a new follower. I feel like I probably miss out on responses.

You can edit your profile and get only the notifications you want. If you have trouble doing this, let me know and I will be happy to walk you through it. I only get notifications for comment replies, new followers and new messages.

Thanks. I didn't realize I could do that. I chose only the ones I wanted.

Great! Glad I could help.

Skip questions, tag users in comments, and edit the order of polls (from oldest to newest).

Better messaging. Tagging.

I don't like the new deal with the ignore feature. Not even seeing what that they post make some strange conversations in the comments.

Third answer choice. Often it's not "yes" or "no" and I would feel better with a maybe and posted comment.

How about including the maybe under either yes or no. I would like more options though but not for a maybe.

I can imagine people trying to get a comment to have a negative like number. I don't see the benefit.

An option to skip polls so you don't skew the results on questions that don't apply to you

The fact that we have to answer our own polls skews the results a bit, so that's weird

TomM
03/21/15 6:05 pm

I cannot see how that could work. If the question changed after we have voted, then our vote suddenly means something different.

More for our comments not questions.

Similar to how facebook does it where it says "edited" and a person can see the original comment by clicking it.

TomM
03/21/15 6:14 pm

It would be odd if I had responded and you then changed the comment, making my response seem way off. Or if you liked my comment and I then change it to the opposite.

FATSHADOW Cyborg Gorilla

Youd still be able to see the original comment by clicking "edited" so its pointless to change the context of the comment.

Plus whats going to occur more stupid shit like changing an entire comment or ppl fixing grammatical errors??

The ability to skip a question and have it taken off your list of polls. Once you answer the questions you want to and skip the question you don't want to answer you have a clean slate.

The ability to see results without voting.

What's the purpose of voting then, you will see fewer votes on your polls, how would you like that.

Tom, your logic doesn't make sense. If people have opinions, they vote to make their opinions count. On the flip side, people who are neutral or truly on the fence find themselves forced to cast a vote if they want to see the results. This skews it.

I don't mind seeing fewer votes on my polls if it means they're more accurate. Right now we have no clue how many people just BS-ed a response just to get to the results.

TomM
03/21/15 7:40 pm

Many vote to get to the results or comments. I also believe many vote to get the poll off the new list. I think you will get significantly fewer votes and many won't like that. Voting is your contribution to the community.

If a poll or its options don't apply to me, i might still want to see the results of what others said

b4mytime Orange County, CA

Tom, what's the point of posting a poll if you don't care to see what people actually think? We're not just blindly collecting votes like some teenager trying to get "likes" on Instagram. We actually care to see what people think.

TomM
03/22/15 5:45 am

I believe if people get few votes they get discouraged and leave, consider how Tony always tries to get us to follow new people. Personally I just leave polls open when I don't care and I would use a skip option if we had it. I just care about

TomM
03/22/15 5:46 am

..comments. The votes don't have any statistical meaning. I usually don't even look at the votes.

TomM
03/22/15 5:49 am

Consider most users just vote on SoH polls and maybe a few user polls. They don't comment or make polls. If they could see results and comments without voting I fear many would avoid the vote and it would hurt the app to have fewer votes. Again ..

TomM
03/22/15 5:50 am

..personally I don't care because I don't look much at the votes but others do and they want to see more votes not fewer.

I wish my notifications took me to what they were notifying me about. Just opening the app is pretty much useless.

TomM
03/21/15 6:08 pm

They should. I use iPhone and iPad, they work. I don't know much about android though. You can send a mail to Tony and describe the issue, they may be able to fix it.

Ok, so I JUST figured something out. I feel like such a dummy if this has been there the whole time.

The notifications I was talking about are on my lock screen. I wish those would take me directly to the comment.

cm8023
03/21/15 6:22 pm

But I just found the Notifications section within the app. When I click those, it takes me directly to what I want.

Now the lock screen isn't a big deal. I just wish I knew about this sooner!! Totally my fault for missing that one.

TomM
03/21/15 6:23 pm

I don't use them much. If they don't work you always have the notification in the app. They should work.

TomM
03/21/15 6:24 pm

Happy I could help. If you unlock the screen and roll the curtain down for the notification list, you should be able to use them.

A user map so you could follow local users if you wanted to. With the ability to opt out if you want to remain private.

And the ability to see who other people follow.

The main one is I wish you got notifications when someone comments on your poll...not just one of your comments.
