Obama now supports mandatory voting. Do you?
Not at all. I think it is as much my right as a citizen to not vote as it is to vote. If that right is taken from me I will vote, but in as contrarian, disruptive, or random manner as I can manage, as a protest. It will serve no good purpose.
Yes, but I also think that certain group a should be stricken from the voter rolls (late stage Alzheimer's, very low-functioning retarded, and anyone who can't make an independent choice).
Why does he not support mandatory gun ownership?
Hmm I wonder why? Crime rate would be ten times higher! Making it mandatory would allow all the crack heads and everyone that isn't mentally capable to have a gun. Stupid argument
I think that's his point... Making it mandatory would not be good
When you have more good people with guns than bad people with guns, you have less crime. That, with stronger penalties for crime, will bring less crimes.
What about conscientious objectors?
I don't think the government should make u do anything. ( besides going to jail for a crime etc)
From what I've heard and read this morning Obama never said that.
If someone isn't interested enough in the issues to vote then why should they be forced to?
Not really. Im not sure why he wants that either. Studies have proven several times that a massive majority in America are conservatives.
Maybe he wants more people to be in politics. Idk.
It would save the Democrats money by eliminating the need to round up voters, bus them to the polls, tell them how to vote and pay them with money or cigarettes.
