Rand Paul, for President?
Yes I think he would be great, but then I see some of his supporters and how disrespectful to the military and such... I just lose hope. But please let him be president
Yes, he's not a libertarian but the cloest to it right now in terms of viable candidates.
I would say he's a classical conservative:
Yes, I would most certainly vote for Rand Paul. He's a great man with bold new ideas for the party.
I like his domestic policy, but isolationism will not benefit us. He needs to adjust before he's ready for the top of the ticket.
I've never heard him advocate for isolationalism. Non interventionalism sure, but not isolationalism. There is a huge difference.
But for me, Rand is the only republican I'd consider voting for.
And the practical difference between isolationism and the specifics of what Paul has advocated are what? His politics are an echo of those before the Second World War, which allowed Japan and Germany to rise to destructive prominence.
They are a departure from the lessons we learned in that war, and the strategy which defeated our only existential threat since and prevented a new one from arising for about three decades.
Do you consider Switzerland an isolationist or a non interventionalist country?
Isolationist, mostly, with the notable exception that they are responsible for the defense of Luxembourg. (Or is it Lichtenstein?)
Well here's the thing, Switzerland is actually non interventionalist. North Korea is isolationalist. I genuinely believe we would do far better as a country to adopt a Swiss like foreign policy and fix our home rather than police the world.
Regardless of what you call it, all my criticisms hold true. The only reason Swizerland can afford to have their policy is that they are a relatively small and strategically worthless nation surrounded by Alps. We cannot.
How about as Vice President?
That I could really go for.
