Inspired by CollinMatthew: "Everybody has underlying biases that they can't really control. Most people don't actively think their race is any better than any other person's race but because of these underlying biases, everyone is racist."
Disagree. Racism is an active dislike of another race or the active feeling that one's race is superior. Calling our natural tendencies to gravitate toward those like us racism is inaccurate & paints a natural subconscious human trait in a very
negative light to no good purpose. All that can come of such a categorization is that everyone is considered racist & is therefore made to feel guilty no matter what and/or racism simply becomes accepted. Neither of these results are good, IMO.
Bias and racism are two completely different things.
Sounds about right.
Social categorization is an automated process. It takes effort to recognize and work against our natural biases.
I think we do all have biases but those don't make is racist or sexist inherently.
Lol no. "Even if you aren't racist, you're racist." That's not a logically valid conclusion because it's unfalsifiable, and probably begs the question depending on how it's structured.
