At the moment, I am hoping that Bernie Sanders runs for President in 2016 as an independent. Do you think an independent candidate could have an impact on the 2016 election?
I'd vote for Bernie.
He couldn't win, but he could help shape the debate and possibly move Hillary a bit to the left. Same goes for Elizabeth Warren. I really hope one of them does just that.
He'll throw the race to the GOP.
They'd have an impact by taking votes away from another candidate
Lady Ga Ga has a better chance! Meat dress or Meathead. Pick it!
Sadly, there's still too much blind devotion to parties for people to rise up and elect someone outside of a party. Further, the media bias against independent candidates is a real barrier. My opinion is based on 0 research and all gut. Lol.
If Sanders ran in the general, it's more than feasible that he'd be able to peel a couple million ballots off Clinton's total, effectively handing the race to the G.O.P.
Kind of what happened when Bill Clinton got elected the first time
Exactly. I bet that race would've been a he'll of a lot closer if Perot didn't loom so large.
Bush would have won
I would love to see Bernie Sanders run for president. I would like it if he ran as a Democrat and I would like it even more if he ran as an Independent. However, I don't hold this hope because I want Sanders to win, but rather because Sanders would
drive Clinton away from the third way and towards the far left if he runs in the primary. If Sanders runs as an independent, then he may siphon off people who would vote for Clinton.
YES!!! He was on cnn yesterday. Ive found my candidate!
