When you were in school, if you knew someone in your grade was doing illegal drugs, would you report them?

My uncle died of a drug overdose yesterday so I started thinking about this stuff. I know someone on ecstasy and idk her parents; we're not friends. For her own good I want her to get some help.

Absolutely not. It just wasn't something you did.

When I was a student it depended on the issue. Was it regularly? Was it pot? No to either of those, no. Yes..probably. Only reported one kid and it caused an intervention (it was cocaine).

No and a lot of kids in my school did drugs. My school did frequent drug checks and it was always entertaining to watch kids run out of the school because they were scared of getting caught.

Most of my grade did drugs. I dont care what they do in their life. But one time when I was in 10th grade there was a boy (our lockers were side by side) and he was selling drugs to an 8th grader and 9th grader. I did go tell the principal that time.

I didn't want the boy to store the drugs in my locker because then if they were found then I would be the one to get in trouble.

Most kids when I was in school were more concerned with whether or not they would be using, to even think about reporting.

First, I would not have reported one-third of my classmates for sheer practical reasons.

Second, I'd fear for my safety. Even in elementary school, I knew of one student who shot another in the leg over illegal drugs.

God... there'd have only been, like, 20 kids left (out of our 400 or so). XD

Though I'm now remembering reporting one kid... Mostly because how he boasted about bringing it to school and showed us it was in his backpack. lol

Never, and a lot of people my grade were doing drugs.

No. Most people I know/knew who used drugs did so because they were going through a lot. They needed compassion, not trouble.

For me it depends on the drugs. If it's something I truly think is harmful and taking over their lives(crystal meth, crack, heroin), I'll probably talk to their family. But if it's stuff like MJ and shrooms, I'm probably hanging out with them.

I didn't when I was in school. I've learned a little bit since then about myself, people, and their motivations. I would today, if it was on school grounds or involved young kids, and I would then if I could go back for a do-over.
