50% of marriages end in divorce. Do you still get married or do you "truly" commit to each other that you are together forever?

Both. Many people just rush into marriages, and they have warped views on what it will be like. You meet someone, think you're in love, and you don't snap out of it until you've got kids running around and you're arguing with your spouse again.

That, along with divorce being relatively easy nowadays can account for those high numbers. There are more reasons as well, of course.

Personally, I don't do either, but if I decided to spend the rest of my life with someone, I wouldn't *not* get married just because so many marriages end in divorce.
