Pope Francis has said that he will not serve as pope for life and may retire in the next two-three years. thoughts?
From the beginning, Papa Francisco has said that he gets the feeling that his time as Pope will be short. Even in this interview he says the feeling is vague and something he can't explain, but he is open to serving as long as it is God's will.
The full interview was really quite good.
A breath of fresh air that didn't last as long as I'd hoped. Welcome back, bigoted Catholic Church.
Maybe we get lucky and get another like him
I dont see what he has said or done that has changed the church in even the slightest way.
Gays will still be judged by God.
Hmm.. So KRS-One is right...The Vatican wants to be a pseudo nation corporation. m.youtube.com/watch?v=qT0GU0ue9Iw. Fast forward to 1:40. Or watch the whole thing. 💥👀
My bad ff to 3:10. 4reekz., he was just at the Vatican...

They're so deeply connected to the mob that a mob boss paid them enough to have himself buried with the other popes.
It wouldn't surprise me if their economic probs (the Vatican is broke) lead them to having to sell the pope position too.
The Papacy has always been for sale. Pope Benedict IX was elected pope at 19, sold the office for some gold for one of his whores, rose an army and deposed the new pope and sold it to his godfather so that he could get married.
Pope Alexander VI bought the papacy in 1492 with twelve donkeyloads of gold. The election of Sergius III was bought through his mistress, Marozia. She also bought their son's election too (John XI).
The good thing about being pope is that when you want to quit you can just say god led you to do it, and anyone that questions you is a heathen
Ratzinger set the trend. I think it's responsible to abdicate once your health or mental capacity start failing, but not before. May Francis live long and prosper.
Indeed. Though I have to say, he's been the single best pope that I can think of.
I'd probably say John XXIII, initiator of the Vatican II council, is the best modern Pope I know.
This is a bit ominous though if you think about it. The same conservative elements that will certainly replace Francis may be pressuring or threatening him towards retirement.
No! Don't do it Papa Frankie! You were good one, the one who was humble and somewhat liberal! Please stay Pope to at least outlive the dickheads like Benedict.
