Do you think there will be a return of monarchies in the future?
When The King of Kings takes His Throne.
Seeing as monarchies were alive only because people saw it as God choosing them to lead, and people Arnt as religious anymore, I'd have to say no.
Just going to say this, but the Divine Rights of Kings wasn't actually a thing monarchs claimed up until the late 1500-early 1600s.
Oh. Sorry, misinformation.
Why do I feel like America won't allow this? Oh wait, we have 2.3 million troops! I remember!
Did I say in America?
I'm sure at some point in the remainder of human history, another monarchy will develop.
I say yes because this world has many stupid people. Just go look at the Darwin awards.
Hopefully, individual people will be able to govern themselves in the future... But most likely we will stay as a democracy
If the Oligarchy gets their way, yes. There is no wealth gap.....inheritance and capital gains tax are evil. Nothing to see here, move along peasant.
Not monarchies, Dictatorships!
I thought we were going for it here.
Just one. It will exist for one thousand years.
You mean like the one we have now in the US?
Hah! I read that as monocles, at first. I thought, "what a weird question, but wouldn't that be cool?"
*Posh English Accent*
Mmmm yes. Top hats, monocles, and canes! Splendid!
I'm placing my bets on Dictatorships 😊
Probably after WWIII
I had to answer no but I sure wish we had a system like Great Britain. You show your national patriotism to the monarchy and not the government. I love their parliamentary debates and intelligent repartee with their PM. It is so unlike our congress.
Yes. It's just a matter of time.
Nope, and hopefully the fall of the English one.
The English monarchy is simply a figure head for the English people. The Queen is the head of state (which mainly does formalities and ceremonies) and that's it.
Except they get over £35 million in tax payers money simply for existing.
In a democratic society there is no room for a head of state who is put there for life and by birth.
If the English people wanted to get rid of the monarchy, they already would have. Since they haven't, I'd say they want to keep it.
From what I've gathered most people don't care, and you're right they can do whatever they want. It's just seems to me that they're a con.
