Have you ever received a sign or symbol from a loved one who has passed?
No, the legacy of the loving life they lived said it all.
No ghosts have visited us here.
Zero, because they don't exist. Dead people don't communicate with the living
Everyone has their own beliefs about this, and I respect that.
Well, they can also believe in unicorns or leprechauns as well... doesn't change the facts! Haha
As a Christian, I believe in life after death. I also respect those who do not share my beliefs.
Then we'll go with what the Bible says on the subject.
"For the living know they will die; *but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward*, for their memory is forgotten." (Ecc. 9:5)
"So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep."
"His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts perish." -Psalms 146:4
"Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant sleep. So he told them plainly, 'Lazarus is DEAD!' " -John 11:13-14
So I say again... dead people don't communicate with the living except in people's imagination.
As a Christian, you surely can understand the logic in God not needing to have people rise from the grave at judgement if they're already awake
Not here to argue with you, MrWolfe. 😀 I have my own beliefs. Surely you can respect mine. Thanks. 😀
Right, I'm not arguing. You said you were a Christian, so I showed you what the Bible says about the matter. Was that arguing?
I get it; you want to believe whatever you want to believe. There's just no basis for it....scientifically *or* biblically
I believe that the soul goes to Heaven and that there is "life" after death. Please note that each Christian sect differs in how they interpret the Bible. But the concept of Heaven is generally accepted in Christianity.
I also have had my own personal experiences, some which I have shared forwards the bottom of the comments, that have strengthened my faith in the concept of life after death.
Wolfe may I ask about your girls? Have they received no sacraments?
Seeing as receiving sacraments is a Catholic thing... definitely not.
What do my kids have to do with the question, though?
Are you raising them to believe in God? No God? Just curious.
There's been a few instances that have made me feel very strongly in the presence of my mother.
There's no explaining it. You just get a feeling.
I'm not even religious, nor do I believe in the concepts of souls or ghosts. But I dunno. Like you said, it's inexplainable.
Agreed. You don't have to be religious to believe in the energy still being present. But I am sure it is comforting to feel your mom near you. I'm sorry for your loss...
It's alright. She died when I was 2.
My father has always told me that I'm exactly like her in nearly every way. Maybe that has something to do with it 😄
Yes. For years from my father - I saw trains - he worked for the subway. After my mother died she came to me and said I did right by her. Since my mother's death all dreams of the subway have stopped though I had them for 10 years.
That's really cool. I have had some very weird experiences in my life similar to that. My paternal grandfather died before I was born and came to me in a vivid dream when I was 16. He hugged me and said he was so happy to talk to me.
He told me stuff about my family that I never knew and that there was no way of me knowing. I validated it with my dad and he was so shocked. I lost my other grandpa a few months ago. He has Parkinson's. I prayed for him to visit me in a dream...
And that night, he visited. He told me he was ok and that God took away the Parkinson's.
I believe it Ms Czar. Can I call you something else? Cc is my second or third or 4th name here. Make one up lol. My cousins have had experiences too and we also believe my mil sent a message to my fil when she died.
How about MrsC? Is that ok? 😀
Perfect!! Just wanted u to choose. The mr calls me Clucker when he is in a good mood lol.
Yes, a couple from my stepfather.
