What is your view on censorship in High School Theatre productions? Too much censoring, not enough?

In a high school production, obscenities and profanities should always be euphemized. Beyond that, plays with overt or deviant sexuality should not be selected in the first place. 🎭

What do you think about performances that have the story going against Christian faith? Like saying evolution is what happened, etc?

I don't like them, but I wouldn't prevent a hs from doing Inherit the Wind. I was actually in a community theater production of it 24 years ago, playing Rev. Jones, the fiery fundamentalist preacher who preaches a strong Creationist sermon, so I was

able to preach my own sincere beliefs while assuming a Tennessee accent and a rather closed-minded character, as dictated by clues in the script. So it wasn't the awful, insincere parody non-Christians usually do.
Sometimes intelligent casting like

this is far better than outright censorship. You can actually make people think. 🎭

Exactly. Making the audience think during but mostly after the performance is what I find very important. Theatre is meant to entertain but also educate.
