Are you kidding? He never answered the question about equal pay, he just said he hires women.

No. His answer was lame. What's he gonna do? Adopt that model and hire every woman in America to be on his cabinet? I considered this answer to be his low point in the debate. Not to mention, the question itself was ridiculous! That "figure" is unfounded and likely inaccurate.

He made it sound like only hired single women... "I even looked through a folder of women once" what a dumbass..

"yeah I hired a woman once. I looked through a whole binder of women." seriously!?!?

So it's the woman's fault. What a surprise. Bet I can guess who you're voting for.

When asked about equal pay for women he talked about how more women are going to be hired in the cabinet and then the whole binder thing. Totally skirted the actual question.

... of women work, and MOST of them drop out of the workforce in their mid 30s to have kids and not all return. You can argue the fairness of biology but you can't change it, no matter how many Lilly Ledbedder acts you pass.

Romney did not put it very well, but what he said is true. The apparent pay gap has been shown time and again to be the result of women's personal choices to take safer jobs with fewer hours over higher paying jobs. And it's harder to find qualified women for senior positions because only 50%...

To think that we're even debating workplace equality in this day is beyond sad.

This is very sad. Obama will not win the election. We are going back.

How would you have known? The "fair pay" act makes that discrepancy transparent so that it is open to comparison.
Reminder: Romney and Ryan both voted against this act and therefore against transparency and equal pay for women. (Fact)

Maybe not yours but it's very important to a LOT of women. Equality in the workplace is an incredibly important issue.

You have got to be kidding me! He pretty much said women aren't paid as much because they need to get home to their kids. Apparently there is an excess of qualified men while qualified women have to be sought out. He said that it should be changed in the most demeaning way possible.

As a woman, I am confused. I have never worked anywhere that women weren't paid fairly and many hold upper management positions. This is not really a topic on the top of women's minds.

His answer was bull. When the economy is bad, employment will drop overall, but it ends up being worse for men because women will work for less pay and accept less than full time work. Once things turn up, employment among men increases and will decrease among women.

10/16/12 8:06 pm

Dems really? He answered in a sideways manner, agreed. But to say no in such huge margins is partisan. Romney's mistake was not supporting equality legislation. Building the economy won't fix that if employers are allowed to pay women less for equal work, no matter how well the economy does

More women are risk averse and will accept a job for less pay than a man would. Why should a company pay a person, man or woman, more than they are willing to accept?

He said his cabinet members brought him "binders full of women" and he was shocked at how many we're qualified for the same jobs as men were. I dont want someone who is shocked....Romney will taken women's rights way back.

Lmurder you need to realize that this app has more in common with Fox News polls than a neutral polling company and these commenters are very skewed towards republicans.
