Did you (or do you plan to) live in your parents' home beyond the age of 21?
Good, america, let's not be lazy bums! Move in this direction! Get jobs!!
Nope moved out on my own when I was 20 and I LUV IT! :)
28 and live at childhood home with dad Pathetic I know but shit happens lost 6 years of my life to drugs so I'm alittle behind. I work and go to school which I'm paying for out of pocket(no loans yet) and there's no way in hell I'd make it on my own rite now
I will graduate when I'm 19, so I certainly hope not.
I certainly do not no way and nor would I PLAN to do that.
My daughter had emergency surgery $60,000. No insurance guess she will be home for a while. She is a RN at the same hospital too. Praying a financial arrangement can be worked out.
I'm almost 16. I plan on going to college for computer programming when I get out of HS.
I'm 22. I kept trying to move away but circumstances kept sending me right back. I much prefer living on my own, but in this economy it's difficult to maintain income stability, especially for my age group. Thankfully I'm out on my own now, and I love the freedom, quiet, and alone time it offers.
I'm planning on going to college right out of high school in a different state that my Mom lives in, so for the time being I need to.
Cgcheer, I'm only 13 too. But it's fun to think about the future.
I m only 13
Loved living at home and so did my parents. They had 2 homes so I took care of the downstate one. When I expressed interest in leaving mom offered to pay me to stay. They never had to worry about anything with me there. I called plumber, cleaning staff, landscapers and kept kitchen stocked.
Where exactly are all these kids with worthless degrees and no experience supposed to go?
in the early 90's my Dad and I had a place together. now my Mother lives in MY house. we take care of family.
Had to move in after college cause the economy and rent in LA for 1 year. Hated it but I'm happy I did.
Heck no moved out at 19.
How pathetic is 29 percent of America.
Goin to marines at 18 so nope
I'm planning on going to college after high school and getting married and getting a decent job and raising a family
I don't think anyone plans too I think they get thrown in a situation that forces them to! Unless you have some way of supporting yourself you will probably have to go back and live with your parents until you are back on your feet!
Hell no when I graduate highschool I'm going to college In finland and then becoming a doctor in Estonia ^_^
I left for college when I was 17. I'm 20 now.
I'll be in college till I'm 22
Fiat2lux and freelander, thanks for the comments I will be sure to look that up. God bless!
On my own at 17 - back home at 23 - on my own at 26 - back home at 28 - out for the last time at 29. Though now we live four doors away, 12 years later. WHAT apron strings?!?!
you choose any college, Christian or otherwise.
@iloveGod Any UNC campus or community college would probably have the degree your after, and depending on what state you get a job in, they may not even recognize any sort of "religious" degrees :( Just do your research and have some good talks with your parents to see what they think before…
I was in college
@rosebud, wow under $200,000! I could get that easy. Every year that passes, I get closer to thinking that we might not make it here. I would hate to leave. Everyone here knows its much more affordable in the mainland. However, I hate defeat and I'm determined to make it!
Only part time when I'm not away at college.
Only the summers while getting my B.A.
...but very briefly. moved out at 18, ended up moving back for a few months at 20. that was not fun!!
Don't worry ilovegod- you've still got time to wise up.
I'm 25 and still live at home. However, I have a bachelor's degree, at a job utilizing it now for almost a year, zero debt, measly rent, home cooked meals every night, and a family that loves me. Thankfully though, I'm about about a month away from closing on my own house.
I moved out when I was 16. It wasn't by choice, my mother is insane and threw me out, but I honestly believe it might have been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. It taught me that life isn't fair, and that the only person who can control my future is me.
22 and still hangin in there lol
I'll be an hour and a half from home when I go to college (or at least I plan to be in Boston).
I'm 26 going on 27 still at my parents. Thankful they like me at home. I earn a decent salary to live on my own but with the persistent recession, I have no economic incentive to move out and either rent or buy.
I'd like to. 50/50 chance is my guess. long drive to where I will go to college
I hope not to, but I might if I go to college here (I live in a college town)
while i lived at home I was working full time and getting my masters. paid all the utilities and mom paid the mortgage, I put in my fair share.
lived at home for 6 mo on and off til I graduated fromcollege
I lived at my mom's house until I was 24. hubby and I bought a house and got married then. saved a ton of money!!!
Oh I don't plan on it....I seem to attract men with bad credit. Ha
Angie brite. don't get married just for financial reasons. it will never work. if you love someone you will be happy, even if your dirt poor.
Northwest Christian is good too
I know some cultures like Indian stay until married and then sometimes stay past I think there are others that are a lit like that too
I can't wait to be making enough money to live in my own place! But for now I can't find a job that pays enough to live on my. I think the only other choice is get married! Two bank accounts is better than one!
I made it to 15ish grandmas house from 12-15 then on my own
Queen- I have a 10 month old so I wouldn't be able to do that, but I plan on being super hands on as I'm a stay at home mum. That helps, I have time to take care of everyone! Ty wonderful husband :) I appreciate your advice. Will keep that in mind for the future!
