If you were having a baby and had to choose the gender, would you choose a boy or a girl?
Age filters are interesting
We have four girls, sooooo....
I wish I had a brother more that anything! My 'plan' as well
Boys can not get pregnant
The slaves were freed. You be dreaming.
Well having no kids right now(I'm only 21 and not married yet which is why I don't), I want my first to be a boy and that way he can protect any sisters he has. Plus even if I don't have a girl I think I will have to worry less about a boy.
I can't wait to have a son. :)
I got my beautiful son two months ago!
Annie - good point!
If that were the question, my answer would change. Knowing that more people would choose boy, I would choose girl.
Seeing as there 37 votes from Alaske its hard to say if thats a solid same. However, it could be that Alaska is rather rural and a boy would bd better suited for the manual labor.
The tradition stems from having multiple eives.
I personally am infertile, but if one of my slaves out in the fields were to have a lil nigga, I would want it to be a boy. Girls just can't pick enough cotton out there. Guys are always on the grind they bring me tons of cotton and FOR NOTHIN cuz they slaves
I choose boy because I have always wanted 3 sons. After 2 miscarriages as long as our child was healthy I would be happy. Hoping to grow our fam soon and very be blessed to have our young son.
Why does the entire country favor boys? Because they're easier to handle and more predictable than girls.
When we had our first baby I wanted a girl so bad. Then a couple in our Lamaze class went to the hospital came home with empty arms after that the gender wasn't so important.
@Grocker actually, dramatic people are dramatic because the people around them allow it. If you are punished for that behavior at a young age, then you won't continue to be dramatic unless your parents let you. I think it's a learned attitude, not a personality characteristic.
Why is it so important for men to pass on their name? It's archaic. Women never pass their names down so I think it's funny how men are like I MUST PASS ON MY NAME. but why????? Lol
I would want a boy first because I would want him to protect my daughter... And how the world is right now... She would need that protection.
Cheesechile you made me laugh uncontrollably.
That's a hard dose of reality for your son.
Yep, there are too many of your kind around, don't procreate and save the world from more people that think like you.
I picked boy only because we have 2 girls and a boy. I'd like for him to have a brother. My girls share a special bond and he is loved by both my girls but it is not the same.
I'm a girl who knows about football and tools. A mom who is making sure her children of both sexes know how to holds their own in both the kitchen and garage. I don't need my husband to fix things but am thankful when he does. My husbands is a great handy man and is good with a broom and can cook.
The results and comments from this poll are disturbing.
@bop I honestly don't know haha
If I was having a baby now I would want a boy cause it would be my first kid and 3-5 years till I have another, and that way my kids would have a protective big brother. But I consider myself to young for kids (I'm 20) and actively work to prevent getting pregnant.
Lol. Women's sports...
I wonder how the responses would differ if this question had been "If you could only have one child would you want a boy or a girl?" sine it seems that most people are saying they either want the opposite gender of the child(ren) they have or want a boy first but assume they could always have more.
My son's cousins are all boys but one. I always end up spending way too much on her at her birthday and Christmas because it's so fun to buy (and eventually play with) all the in dolls and ponies. Thankfully she's a frilly sort of girl so she loves dolls, tea parties and over-the-top dresses.
Actually, I'm the one that bought my son his drum kit, lol. The neighbors hate me. :)
A boy so when the girl grows up she has someone else to protect her.
Both still come down to a parental choice. But yes, we have the luxury of this being hypothetical...for now.
I have 4 girls. I wouldn't know what to do with a boy! Lol. He would be spoiled rotten I'm sure with all the "mothers" in the house.
A girl because I have a boy.
Question. Why are girls more heavily favored in Alaska? By a healthy margin, no less. Any Alaskan (or more knowledgeable individual than myself) able to supply an answer?
We China now.
I don't have kids, but since I'd be a more involved parent than my husband, I 'd rather have a daughter. I know what to do with girls.
I already have twin sons, if I have another I would like a daughter
My wife and I have 2 of each gender, plus 2 grand daughters love them all, but remember that daughters will take batter care of elderly parents.
I think that oj Simpson had a job and never went to jail. Michael Jackson too. "Can't screw them up"....what a stupid comment.
I agree. And those who say they dont want daughters so they don't have to deal with the boys... what about boys?? You still have to worry about him keeping his pants zipped and not getting girls pregnant.
My mom had 3 of each but girls dominate her grand kids 5-2!
I have one of each and my son is older. If I was to have another it wouldn't matter.
This makes zero sense
Im the last male with our name, so as long as I have sons and grandsons I am fine with having girls too.
We have 2 girl and a boy. I would like another boy, but I would rather adopt a child that was closer in age to our other children than to have another baby.
Sexism at it's peak
I have 3 amazing boys, if I could choose I would love to see what my little girl would be like.
