My dad can fall asleep before he hits the pillow and you will be able to tell because he snores as loud as ... something that snores loud.

I've never been able to fall asleep easily, not even when I was a baby. I'm so jealous of my friends who can lie down and fall asleep, then wake up early and be totally awake and ready to face the world. It takes me, on average, probably about an hour to fall asleep, and waking up is just... no.

I've always had trouble falling asleep, even as a kid. Unless I'm exhausted, it will usually take me 1-3 hours to fall asleep. AKA: I don't sleep much. But napping, that's very different. If I decide to nap, I'm out like a light. Usually that's because I'm exhausted though.

It used to take me a long time to fall asleep, but ever since I started to get so much homework that I have to sleep at 00-00:30, I can fall sleep in a few minutes.

Are you on Instagram? You need to look up my daughter, @_prettyful_. You two have a lot in common, from reading your comments over time. I am putting this on an old thread in hopes of not bothering anyone on a more current thread. If you look her up, tell her I sent you. I've mentioned you to her.

I read, watch TV, work on a puzzle till my eyes are tired and I yawn like crazy. Soon as I get up and go in my bedroom (has to be dark and quiet) and lay in bed I wake up. My head won't turn off. I think of EVERYTHING under the sun, toss and turn, then fall asleep after at least a hour.

I have a sleep disorder, I can fall asleep in less than 5 min. I am also very active (running, strength training, cycling etc) and only time I sit down all day is for the 5 min it takes to shove food down. Sometimes I don't even sit down to eat.

I WISH I could fall asleep inside of 15 minutes. I can, but man do I have to be exhausted! Generally takes me about an hour +/-, but I don't consider it to be too great an issue.

That sounds like a good trick. I can see why it would be so relaxing. For me, it would be a beachfront hotel in Mexico with the balcony doors wide open and the sound of the surf outside. See? I'm all relaxed now, just remembering it.

This is why you're going to be successful. Most teenagers slack their best years away. Great job and keep it up!

Sager, I replied to you, but apparently I accidentally attached it to the comment just *above* the one I originally wrote here.

My problem is that I don't like to sleep at night. If I tried, I could sleep quickly. But I'd much rather stay up and watch a movie, do my homework, or text a friend. And then I'm tired the next morning and promise myself I'll sleep early, and then I find another interesting movie on Netflix... :/

I'm asleep in about five minutes. I do muscle exercises tensing and relaxing muscles and I'm asleep in no time. If I'm really wound up I pray for everybody I know and while I am strongly agnostic when it comes to religious ritual and dogma I don't let that stop me during our 1 on 1 time.
