Do you feel that you have a good understanding of how your tax dollars are used?
If by "used" you mean "wasted," then yes I do.
Pretty much they are flushed down the toilet.
What source tells you that? (I am not trying to say you're wrong. It's just that many people seem to be learning from bad sources these days)
How about The CBO.
The CBO is?
The Congressional Budget Office.
Is it possible for you to respond for me without using the term "Really" in a way that seems to be insulting my intelligence? Also, could you possibly post a link to this source?
Feeling insulted? Well bless your heart.
Either you are woefully ignorant about this subject and should go do a great deal of your own research or you are in your own way being insulting. Either way you earn the "Really"
Stop being lazy and go
Look up the Government site yourself.
I could look it up myself, but due to the crap-filled nature of the internet, there is a good chance I would not find your source. It is much simpler for you to provide me with the source, since that would prevent miscommunication.
Or simply don't do that, and I will remember you only as an A-hole that had no clue what they were talking about, and we'll both move on with our lives.
Look kid it is a GOVT website I am pretty sure you can find it. And it doesn't take a super-genius to figure out that the govt is wasting tax dollars. Even the CBO admits that billions are lost to Fraud, Waste and Abuse.
As for name calling. I
don't really care what some emit-nosed kid from nowhere thinks of me. You obviously have no prior information and simply wanted to troll up an argument. Stop being lazy and do some research.
It seems you do not understand and will not understand why you must provide the source. I do not care if you care about my opinion of you. If it's really such a problem, then let us end this conversation.
Troll on liberal kid.
I never claimed to be liberal. I'm sorry. Is that a liberal thing? You know, wanting to have people back themselves up with evidence. I never even said I disagreed with you, and you got defensive and attacked me.
Your profile and your attitude screams liberal. What in Anything I have said makes you think that I wanted to have a debate about anything?
I never said anything about a debate. I've just asked for some evidence. A benign request that is simple to provide. You just have to copy and paste a url. How hard is that? I just want people to have evidence whether I agree with them or not.
Does that make me liberal, childish, and lazy?
How does my profile seem liberal?
Then I have to ask, "Who are you?" who are you that you feel you are owed only founded with research statements by all around you? If that truly is your expectation you are going to be a very disappointed person in your life.
Here is a link for you:
Yes, you are being lazy if you can't look it up for yourself and your entire complaint has been childish.
As for your liberalness revealing itself:
- initials instead of a real name while not
definitive it is indicative.
- you are from/in Kansas
- 38 percent agreement rate with 2205 votes
- your, "I'm the victim, even though I initiated hostilities with ridiculous demands" attitude. Really??
There is clearly some miscommunication here. I don't know how it happened, but it did. Let's just end this nonsense.
No problemo. Such things do indeed happen.
It makes me very happy that you actually agreed to let it go. I haven't seen that happen very often.
People tend to be less civil in my experience.
I have been at this for a very long time. As long as a person is genuine in their attitude then civility is called for.
I only pay sales tax, so it isn't much money, so probably education or infrastructure.
I have an excellent understanding of how they're used. Which is exactly why I hate politicians. I think politicians & the President should NEVER be allowed by law to earn more per year than the average American. That'll keep them a bit more sensible.
Yeah, they're wasted
Minus the black ops? Sure.
Does anyone ?
Yes and no. I think I have a better understanding than the average American, certainly, and that I have a good understanding of the basics of tax and federal budgeting - but there is a LOT of troubling opacity in the federal budget.
The budget and spending is pretty transparent in general terms, but a lot of specifics are hidden. Secrets, contracts with misleading titles, nonsense like that. Still, in general, yes I know where my money goes.
I don't think there's all that much transparency. Can you explain how the treasury lists our most recent annual budget deficit at $438bil, but our total debt for the same period increased by $1.07tril?
Deficit and debt are two different things. I didn't try to chase down the specifics, but there are lots of ways that can happen.
I know exactly how it happens, I've explained it here before. It's a shell game involving federal employee pension and disability funds used to spend money without "spending money." Then we borrow to repay the employees' accounts.
Nobody does, the Fed can't even accurately account for $ spent and their is no transparency. Government at all levels have such poor accounting standards and controls it would imprison them in the private sector.
Haha the question wasn't whether or not you agree with how they're spent, just whether or not you feel like you know where they're going, generally speaking.
I hear ya...
If you don't, here are the summary tables from the federal budget: www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BUDGET-2015-BUD/pdf/BUDGET-2015-BUD-28.pdf
