Have you ever totally forgot about something you were cooking?
Only food in the microwave. Never food on the stove or in the oven.
Oh, the tales I could tell. ADHD + chefery is safe most of the time, but I've pull some *serious* boners in the kitchen. Try turning on the wrong burner and heading to the bathroom, only to come out and find that you've melted a stack of tupperware
onto the stove, and it's now filling the house with toxic smoke AND it's on fire AND oh, yeah, your soup is still cold AND by the way, that back burner? It's toast. Oh, AND it's wintertime, so that fan to blow out the smoke is sucking in ice. ICE.
A few times... Fortunately I've never set off the smoke alarm, let alone caused a fire. Most of the time it's still been edible - I was just fortunate - but once or twice, not so much.
Yes, I killed some artichokes last year. They were burned to death. There's a reason I don't cook.
Not me but my mother has and she cannot smell either...so we've had a few accidents while she was off doing another task while food was cooking.
Burned coconut flakes in the over twice last night.
Ooh, double burn. That's awful.
I decided to do it stovetop the third time and almost ruined them again lol
I'm so glad the third time was a charm. You're still a much better cook than me. I could burn water.
I boiled water and forgot about it once. :(
Haha, it's happened to me many times! The worst is when all your water is gone :(
Oh my pot was dry as a desert lol.
A hot dog, it was completely black and maybe a 1/4 of the original size.
Come home from the bars; put frozen pizza in the oven; pass out; wake up to smoke alarm; throw pizza in the garbage; go to bed.
Lol! My old roommate did that with a chicken patty on his 21st. Thank god for smoke alarms lol
Hard boiled eggs!
Omg hard boiled eggs were exactly what I forgot about this time that promoted the question lol
Was the water gone and the shells almost burnt??
I don't know how I haven't burned down the apt complex by now, I have a problem lol
I just remember those charcoal potatoes!
Hahaha! That was definitely the worst time! I'm so grateful it happened with potatoes and not something else lol.
