I built my first computer last night (I'll list the specs in comments). Do you ever build, make, etc or always buy prebuilt/manufactured?
I buy....my boyfriend builds
I buy Ikea furniture. Wouldn't that make me a builder?
GIGABYTE micro-ATX board, i5 quad core 3.5 GHz Devils Canyon 1150 CPU, 16 GB DDR3-1600 ram, still need an SSD and dedicated GPU.
It's my profile pic if you want to see it
I'm assuming all that stuff you listed means it's "pretty bad ass" in layman's terms?
Average home computer is dual core and <6GB RAM. It's solid. I just need to get a dedicated video card so I can play games on max graphics (I can play on standard graphics now without the Gpu)
Well, sounds awesome! I'm looking to upgrade my computer as it's internet performance (especially with YouTube and other sites that use flash player) has been significantly lacking lately. I know it's not the internet connection itself because...
... my tablet hooked up to the Wi-Fi performs well.
Three reasons: virus, to far from router, bad network card
I buy prebuilt but will upgrade parts myself such as ram and graphics cards when the time comes.
You'll appreciate your accomplishment much more than you would had you purchased a pre-fab/programmed unit.
Yeah, putting it together wasn't the hard part. Finding good, inexpensive/on sale parts, compatible parts, etc was
Congrats. I prefer using them.
