Do you display the Confederate flag on your things or property?

Absolutely not! A local eatery displayed and my friends and I boycotted it. We are Jews by blood

No, but I'm getting to the point where I don't even like to see the U.S. flag.

I don't display any flags on my property or belongings.

This reminds me of something my history teacher. He basically proved that those that wave the Confederate flag might as well be flying the Nazi flag.

I bet he used his opinion to "prove it" because what you just said is complete nonsense.

No offense intended for you. You were taught it.

You are making assumptions. Look, I'll try to use the same reasoning. Assuming you wave the confederate flag, why do you do so?

mrdudemanpants
11/14/14 11:14 am

Then, why do you care? I had already agreed it was dumb to wave the thing.

The nazi flag and the confederate flag are not symbolic of the same thing or even close to it. I have no personal dog in this hunt, but I know they're not the same thing. That's all.

However, they are similar. They both have been used by racists and therefore symbolize racial hate, and that was his main point.

True, but many would say the US flag represents racism. Go talk to a Palestinian and he'll likely say that the U.S. Oppressed every minority of every type until just recent years. They'd be right too.

I don't care. That doesn't affect my opinion at all. The US, as a nation, has lost my respect.

That's fine, but a study of world history will show that the U.S. Is one of the few bright spots. No country has ever been perfect, but this one is pretty darn good, relatively speaking.

Is that an excuse for our country to be crap?

Looks like you have reading issues. I'm done now.

I read that perfectly fine, but is that an the fact that we're not as bad as other countries an excuse for our country to be bad?

MrLucchese If curious, ask.

I don't have any flags anywhere.

It's a flag fly it if you want. Not my business what you believe in or what you identify with. I just don't like the automatic racism that is stuck to it.

It represents one of the worst periods in our nation's history and I can't fathom why someone would be proud of it.

the battle flag no.I see nothing good in either as they have been cooped by rather unsavory individuals. Some of my gear does carry the palmetto, Bonnie blue, or the first national as I support the right of free association or disassociation.

This is a good question! Instead of arguing about who we 'think' flies the confederate flag more, ask who is flying it and see what the filters show. Brenstal, you're a standard user, would you like me to repost?

I asked both questions in two different polls. Also, I literally just updated to power user like a second ago, and then I saw your comment. XD

No, I'd love for it to get out there more. Thanks for saying you like the poll.

Flying a Nazi flag is a personal choice. Im not saying it's bad. Just saying that some personal choices represent someone as racist or offend others.

No. My point is that just because something is a personal choice doesn't mean that it is not bad.

I have seen a couple in the past 8-10 years. I don't agree what it stands for.
