Just spent the last couple of hours working on a lift in 21-22 degree weather that was stuck lifted about 50' in the air with 2 people in it. How's your evening been? More info inside.
It wasn't in the negatives all day today and it was actually bearable.
drinking wine. it's good so far...
I watched the football game..
Repoing cars in Wyoming is freezing.
I bet. I have heard some of the temps up there recently. Sounds very BRRRRR!!
Ooh, that's a bad, bad day. Please get warm.
I'm warm, but now it's back to work. 18 degrees, windchill 11. High supposed to be 27. Gotta live a job where your outside a lot in this weather.
I couldn't do what you do. I'd freeze. I'm glad you're warmer this morning though.
The high was 5º today and we had a few inches of snow. I, however, didn't even poke my nose outside today, so I'm pretty content. (My son-in-law, though, delivered his rural mail route today. I worried about him on the roads, 1 of which was bad
enough that it had to be closed to traffic.
oh yes because the American people must get all their junk mail delivered on time! ! :P
Well, the USPS did better than UPS, apparently. My daughter was still waiting for a truck to get up the hill with her package, while her husband made it OK on the same road. Maybe UPS should have handed off to USPS.
Better than that. I've been hanging out at the house. Turned the heat on since it's going to be in the 30's tonight.
I was heading to the rec and I saw them up there and I said "that sucks" didn't even realize they were stuck.
Yeah. Just the one that was inside the practice field. They have two others that are usually on the sidewalk on Glenna Goodacre on the south side of the field. I was there from about 6 to 7:30.
I wonder I they knew there efforts were in vain cause Oklahoma is gonna rip us.
They use this lift to film the practice of the local college football team. They were up there about 2 hrs before they tried to come down and the lift wouldn't work. They were there another 30-45 minutes until the fire department got them
Down with a ladder truck. I bet those college kids were pretty cold, up in the air with a 10 to 15 mph wind and the temp at around 21 to 22 degrees. Finally got the lift lowered and will order parts to fix tomorrow, but for now, I'm gonna
Try and get warm.
Haha tech football team sucks anyway
That's pretty bad, but hey, at least they weren't on the World Trade Center scaffolding that tipped more than 45º today near the 68th floor. Those guys had to be rescued through 3 layers of glass. They were probably a little warmer, though.
Yeah, I read about that after I got home. I didn't like having to go up about 30' in another lift to release a stuck valve to lower this one. No way would I be in one of those window washers rigs on a skyscraper!
