Do people on SOH regularly assume what you believe politically only for them to be completely wrong?

Occasionally they do when we're debating something and another issue comes up, but I don't really have much of a reputation for being anything.

oh yes. if you make one comment even hinting that Obama isn't the absolute worst president we've ever had, you're immediately labeled a commie.

I often get mistaken for a democrat. Several users like to be lumpers instead of splitters.

any users assume they know the beliefs of other users and it turns out they were completely wrong, are you someone who had had assumptions made against?

As am i, but no matter how often I tell people my beliefs they always make stupid assumptions

All of the time. Related: people falsely assume I'm a Democrat.

You're a green. But I'm guessing you vote for democratic candidates, though.

Often, yes. I typically find myself in a "lesser of two evils" situation.

It would be nice to have the Green Party expand more on their platform so they can grow into a bigger party.

All. The. Time.

Not a single person knows what all of my political beliefs are. A few have a pretty good idea since I took the isidewith quiz while on a call with them, but most people just assume.

Erhm... Hiding?

My phone is broken and I'm getting a new one soon. I've also been busy with work and school; I started anew with both in September.

How have you been?

SPENDING ALL MY TIME LOOKING FOR YOU.

11/12/14 8:16 pm

That's um... Flattering?
It's not that difficult to find me, really. I'm everywhere. 0.o

Plus, I've kept up with voting and reading comment sections -- I just haven't been commenting as much (except the past couple of days).

Thought I saw you hiding behind the plant at Pizza Hut.

I'm good. Been doing NaNoWriMo and it's killing me.

MrLucchese If curious, ask.
11/12/14 8:19 pm

Yes, indeed, that was certainly me. That would make sense. Im sure I wasn't busy... Whatever that day was. Then again, I'd rather die than go into a Pizza Hut, so...

I'm glad you're doing well, though. What about it is driving you crazy?

Just trying to hit the word count every day. It's a lot of mental pressure and takes time away from other important things like I STILL HAVENT WATCHED

I just don't get why you work there. Is there not a McDonald's nearby?

Mattwall1
11/12/14 11:51 pm

There is, but when I was looking for work, they weren't hiring, and the only ones around me that are now I can't get to since I'm essentially reliant on the crappy bus system my town has to get to work

I just find it amusing that you are a rational, respectful, progressive young man who works at a bigoted, religious, oppressive establishment.

This happens to me all the time on:
Guns
Cutting the budget
Freedom to deny service
Taxation
Affirmative Action
and a few other subjects that are nowhere near as common

trepidhickory Ayy Lmao
11/12/14 5:20 pm

Only heavy explosives should be restricted, college campuses should decide whether or not to allow guns on campus

The budget needs to be cut starting with our bloated military budget,

non emergency services should be able to deny service to anyone

trepidhickory Ayy Lmao
11/12/14 5:21 pm

for any reason.

I believe we need to lower income tax and install a low sales tax on everything but food (not including junk food).

and affirmative action should be based on socioeconomics not skin color

You tend to actually read what people say instead of allowing yourself to be blinded by your own beliefs.

Mattwall1
11/12/14 9:13 pm

It doesn't hurt to listen what others say. The worst that happens is you debate, and regardless, you usually learn something. Pretending to claim what they're saying while just letting your own bias go through seems utterly stupid and always has
