If God was willing put up with slavery, treating Indians somewhere between awfully and genocidally, segregation, and internment camps in the US, God isn't, or at least has no business, caring if two people of the same sex marry each other.

Terrible and biased question. Stop reading zinn.

Yes, I'll , this question is biased, IMHO it serves a point, but I'm not about to claim this one is impartial. As for Zinn, I'm not sure who you're referencing. And as to your point above, no I don't hate america, and continually charging me with

That doesn't make it so. It may make you an ass after doing it so many times ozzy, but it doesn't make it true. I also have nothing against having faith, even if I don't myself (though hating something/oneI don't think exists to me just doesn't even

Make sense.) I don't care if someone has faith so long as it is theirs and they don't try and make it the government's. When people start going on the destruction of the U.S. or it's moral base over gay marriage and cite God coming into destroy it or

As a sign God is against us, and yes people have said such things, at least that I've seen, yes I'm willing to say "God cares that much about gay but took so long to care about slavery?"

I'll call out any biased question that is offensive.
Calling someone a name is the sign of a weak argument. I expect more from you, Matt.

A god is for or against whatever the people who made up it up want it to be. The nature of the god(s) people create says a lot about the people themselves. It's a safe bet their god is always on their side, and against their enemies.

imo, the tone of the question is strong. some might word it apologetically to avoid some backlash from those that might feel attacked by the idea. I, for one, am glad you didn't go that route. I think it would be easier to attack vs discuss.

God allowed these things for a reason, he did not just put up with them. If same sex marriage is legalized it's for a reason.

What kind of God allows slavery or genocide or internment merely for being Japanese? What possible reason could God have had for that?

I don't know his reasons, but I know it was good. It could be so that we would learn from our mistakes to keep this country great.

Good reason for slavery? For genocide? For wrongful mass internment? Is it better to be a great country with that or a non great country and not have had that?

Nema-my main point of this was towards the people who think God will destroy the U.S. Because of gay marriage, not that I think God did any of this. But it does seem horrifying to me to actually feel "oh it's better we be a great nation but have held

"God has his reasons"
"God works in mysterious ways"
"God has a plan for us all"
On and on and on, they're all just excuses.

If I was tortured and killed in any genocide, and I knew that god was just like "oh no, this is my plan. I want you to suffer so that your killers can learn a lesson and be better people".. I am not sure how I would feel about god lol

I mean, God can't possibly love everyone equally and be all that just if he allows so many innocent people to suffer and die just so shitty people may possibly become slightly less shitty.

Hayley-apparently one of the cells occupied by jewish prisoners at one of the camps had "If there is a God, he will have to beg my forgiveness." Marked into it
