We find a planet in space that we can reach. It's practically a clone of earth, but they're in a historic situation (Such as the year before the holocaust, the civil war, etc), should we intervene?
We should intervene by killing them off and taking their planet. Jk..but seriously
I thought it would be a bad idea- but then I thought, we already know how all this plays out, and nobody benefits from reinventing the wheel. If we were to intervene, a ton of inventions we never thought of would be made, and we could exchange ideas.
The balls it would take to even think we should play god with another world. It's insulting to think we have such a god complex.
Well if it is on an essentially parallel timeline, we will have to intervene eventually.
We would most likely unite them against us, if they were anything like us.
No, But you, know it all liberals would feel duty bound to mind their business. ; )
I'm a liberal and would follow the Prime Directive!
Yes but we've stopped doing the right things on Earth now so I doubt we'd be concerned for anyone there either. (unless the corporations can make more money)
Since govt is all about secrets now who knows, maybe life elsewhere like that has been discovered.
No way. It's none of our business at all. Besides, they would probably unite against the alien invader.
It depends. Do they have warp technology?
I don't know. Lol
Well the flashpoint of the civil war may still exist and cause a worse war with better technology and more casualties. What if without the war a persuasive dictator would be born down the lines of one of the soldiers?
It would be a new earth.
What if it may be the exact opposite and a brilliant inventor or scientist could have been born?
You never know with things like that.
I would not support the Star Trek prime directive and intervene.
