Governor-Elect Greg Abbott said that if an Open Carry bill came to his desk, he would sign it without hesitation. Do you support the Open Carry of handguns? (Please share to give others the opportunity to follow).
A don't really care one way or the other. Personally if I did carry I would prefer to do so concealed.
I personally support open carry, but even if it passed here, I would still conceal carry...I think there is something to be said for the element of surprise when it comes to being in a life or death situation with a criminal
With Patrick as Lt. Governor, it's a good bet.
How is there a way to not see questions posted by this account if they are shared by users I follow? These questions don't pertain to me.
Then don't answer..... Simple as that.
agreed. (not wanting to see these)
I'm opposed to any type of "carry".
Not me, your choice, open or concealed, your choice
Every right has limits including gun rights. Open carry is a colossally bad idea.
Because agonist is a liberal.
You're partially correct. I'm a liberal, conservative, libertarian, pragmatist, and realist.
I still would like to know the reason you think open carry is a bad idea to legalize.
If people can conseal carry, i don't see how there's a problem with open carry
Concealing in a Texas summer sucks, open carry will make it much easier and faster.
Yes. I understand why some have reservations about concealed carry, and why we therefore license it to appease them, but I've never understood the argument against open carry, or why some states don't have it.
I can't imagine living somewhere where open carry is prohibited. Just seems odd. I still conceal, but that's just me.
No problem with open carry, but I prefer to carry concealed.
I'd like to ask why?
You'd have the option.
Some people get freaked out about guns, and I don't like to draw attention to myself.
I'm surprised Texas isn't open carry. Idaho has been open carry for as long as I can remember.
19th century Texas open carry was the law of the land.
However, in our modern setting I would be concerned about needlessly frightening people.
The Yanks just need to get over it!
This is America, isn't it?
No, it's Texas, damnit! How do you like your red state?
We have open carry here. The only rules are you need to be 18 for a rifle and 21 for a pistol. We're pretty lax on gun laws in NH. We just don't find them scary. ;)
Props to the Photoshop (or Illustrator) design.
Thank you! I did it on MS Paint. :-)
I only oc in new hamster. Watching the libiot massholes wet themselves when they see a gun is priceless.
What the fuck are you talking about this time, lip?
Look you stuttering fool, wipe the spooge off your lips and read.
I did read it. It doesn't make sense in the context of my comment. Also, I'm anti- gun control. You done yet, dumbass?
Look forest, read again.
Slowly so the moron can understand. Open carrying frightens the sheep. Watching them scattering is amusing. Any thing else fuckstick?
Ya know what's funny drooski? I find you amusing. Slightly.
I grew up in a state with open carry and I have no problem with it. Even at my high school you would see shotguns on racks in the back windows of trucks.
Same here. There used to be a rifle team at school and store the rifles in our lockers too. What happened to the good old days?
Political correctness happened. A negative stigma on firearms happened.... Progressive liberals happened.
Personally I prefer concealed carry for element of surprise however everyone is more polite when I open carry.
If you are going to open carry you should use a lol 2 or 3 holster. I think I should be able to carry anywhere law enforcement can until I show them a reason I shouldn't.
Go for it.
Open carry should be up to the person. I sure as shit dont want to advertise that I'm carrying. I know if I was about to commit a violent crime thats the first guy I'd target. I'd rather a guy think "he's not going anywhere fast, I'll shoot him last"
Yes, it takes away the burden of surprise
Wait a second... Texas doesn't allow open carry?
Sadly no... Not yet. The problem is Speaker Joe Straus put an El Paso liberal (Joe Picket) as chairman of the Public Safety Committee. Picket has tabled every open carry bill the Legislature has filed.
Virginia has had open carry for decades. Odd.
I find it rather odd that we can and y'all can't.
Absolutely as long as they have a permit which indicates they have the proper training and no relatively bad criminal record.
Lol. I know. I know. I believe in gun rights just like I believe in the right to drive a car......if you've got a license. The license is a reasonable restriction that doesn't violate the constitution anymore than prohibition against
..Than a prohibition against commercial fraud in advertising violates freedom of the press.
How about a tattoo across the forehead...just so there are no surprises.
How about we tattoo criminals, just so we know?
I'm all right with that.
I am surprised. :-)
Totally supportive. However, I would suggest that perhaps the law be worded in that the weapon is properly holstered?
.gov needs to know nothing that I do. Land, guns or cars myofb.
Long as they have gun registration and education. I would not have a problem with it
I'm all for education, but I am against registration. The government or the police do not need to know what I own.
Agree with Spartacus.
Do you have a problem with them knowing what cars and/or houses you own?
Actually I do have a problem with the government knowing about anything that I own, but I suppose I will always pay taxes on my cars and land.
Guns are different from cars or houses because they can be used against a tyrannical government like Nazi Germany or Cambodia under Pol Pot or North Korea or communist China.
Registration doesn't work anyway and actually benefits the criminals
.gov needs to know nothing of my business, guns, cars homes, myofb.
Let's go back to the good old days of the Wild West where every one open carried! Oh, wait, they had stricter gun control laws then than now. Never mind.
I do support it. I would still carry concealed but would not be so worried if it showed.
I fully support open carry at all times and in all places. Free men must have the ability to defend themselves as they cannot rely on a government to do so. That said I much prefer concealed carry as it gives me the advantage of surprise.
I realize it is intimidating for some people but for others it is comforting.
Why was it ever made illegal is my question- them I could say of it should be made legal again
This user is currently being ignored
Yes, but only because the several cops I know are for it.
Only the brass are against citizens having weapons.
Not to be confused with Tony Abbott.
South Park-"your boat is fucking gay"
Idk why I thought of that but we are going with it
My boat is absolutely fabulous.
