Do you view it negatively for working single mothers to be on government assistance?
Negatively, but in this sense: she should be paid a living wage. Why must the gov't subsidize businesses by making up the difference? That cost and risk should belong to the business, not the gov't.
If she has 4 kids from 3 different fathers, I definitely look at it unfavorable.
If her husband died or left her I look at it favorable.
I don't have a problem with it, as long as she is providing for her family, and not wasting her money while expecting the government to take care of her and the kids.
No, they are working as hard as they can but need the financial aid.
This is what welfare was originally intended for :)
I think this is one of the few things that is acceptable
Yes, but not because she is working. I don't believe in government handouts.
I view it negatively that she needs public assistance even though she works.
what if she's working a minimum wage job?
Then maybe she should have abor- ah shit, forgot republicans don't support that either.
Well maybe she should have thought about that before being a woman with a working vagina.
(That wasn't towards you by the way, Nifer.)
Ok, so what if she was working a comfortable job and then got laid off and could only find a minimum wage gig? And the father left when he found out she was laid off.
To Clarify: I think people who work a full time job, should be allowed the dignity of not having to apply for help. Employers should pay a living wage.
She never should have breed with the guy that left. Hopefully he's paying child support.
how would she know he would leave? And you mean "never should have BRED".
I know. Sorry I usually proof read before I post. Because more times than not pregnancies are accidental. I did a poll about it and the majority agreed on it. Best to be capable and able to afford having kids. Its a shame when it's not the case.
No. She's working. And everyone knows minimum wage is not enough to live on when you're a single mother. If she's working and trying to provide for herself/her family I don't see what's wrong with it.
I see it as a negative that anyone who is working should need government assistance. It means that taxpayers are subsidizing an employer's unwillingness to pay a fair wage.
Maybe if we had lower taxes and less regulations the employer would be able to pay more
If they are working or going to school full time, then I'm fine with it. If they're not doing either, then no.
As long as they are working. I do not mind. The second they decide that not working is ok, then I have a problem.
What about going to school?
I made it pretty clear. As long as they are working, fine. School is not work. If she wants to do to school, she should work too. 1-2 online classes a year will yield a degree eventually.
mAh w3lfare m8 o sh00t. forget welfare and work m9

That username doesn't seem like Cowboys MO
I agree with Mc88. I may not agree with cowboy on a lot of things but that doesn't sound like him at all. It sounds more like a rotavele.
And I don't think cowboy is. Lol.
Not if they are widows or it is supplemental to their working. Yes, if they keep popping out kids to different men (my ex's sister).
If they are working, that shows they are trying, so no, I do not look down on them.
Exactly this ^
so if someone is not working it means they aren't trying? finding employment is not as simple for some people as you may think
Nobody said that, neuron.
No, that's not what I said. The question was if she was working and drawing assistance. I answered the q that was asked.
Why are they single?
No, more like sperm donor and moved on to donate some more.
Husband got old, turned Republican as they supposedly do, left his wife for a young blonde.
How about the husband was killed in action fighting over seas. Is that legit or are they still leaching?
If he died while fighting overseas, I assume you are talking about the military. Our life insurance policy is 400k and an additional 100k for a child child. (If you chose). So the wife has 500k. That would last the average person 10 years at least
I don't have an intimate knowledge of that but I was just trying to point out to rons that not all single mothers messed up and there shouldn't been an immediate jump to conclusions.
But swervin I'm glad there is something for military wives and families :) thank you for clarifying
Or the dad just left and gave up responsibility
Why are 74 percent of black children born to single mothers, where are the baby daddies? Maybe being a baby daddy to another kid? No child support, just you!
I think they are the best example showing the need & value of Gov assistance.
