Who will make a better Lt. Governor? Leticia Van de Putte or Dan Patrick? (As this is still a young account, please share so others may follow! Thank you)!
Patrick is a religious and political nutjob.
Maaaaaaaaannnn! Y'all got a LOT of work to do to turn Texas purple!!!
I have work to do? lol Nope. I'll be letting the GOP do the work of turning Texas blue.
If they do not change their attitude towards immigration issues, it'll happen.
..... Wasn't that supposed to happen last night??
Great job on that account's icon, btw.
Thank you! Microsoft Paint is the world's most underrated program!
Texas needs a conservative governor.
I agree, but not another moron.
Van de Putte is more fun to say for 4 years.
Since I live in Fl, I looked them up. It is an easy choice : Dan Patrick .
I have a great Florida question for you! Charlie Crist or Rick Scott?
That's an easy one too - Rick Scott. Charlie C has been a Rep, an Independent , and a Democrat. He has been for and against most issues, and he is an Obama supporter.
Keep these coming!
I will! I need more followers though! Tell your friends! :-)
I voted randomly as I don't know either of them. Did you mean this poll to go only to Texans?
For the most part, yes, but all are welcome. I created this account to talk Texas issues. :-)
Run down: Van de Putte, very liberal.
Patrick: Very conservative
Patrick: Heavily favored :)
I wouldn't say Patrick is "very" conservative, but he is mostly conservative. I think with the spotlight on him he will be more conservative than normal once he wins.
I'd say he's the most conservative of the candidates who were in the primary.
Maybe... I voted for Jerry Patterson, but I'm now glad he didn't win.
Off topic for the question, but relevant to the new account ...
I have a niece who lives in Dallas. When we visit, I notice a Texas oddity. It's the only state (as far as I know), where it's common to fly the state flag along with the American flag.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining, just observing.
Do you think you could make a good poll out of this fact?
This user is currently being ignored
We wear it as a badge of pride
Texas is allowed to fly their flag at the same height but not higher than the American flag, because Texas was its own country for 9 years, But I think the capital building may actually be exempt from the flag rule.
Yes, that is something we do :)
Texas Government Code Title 11 § 3100.055:
(b) If the state flag and the flag of the United States are displayed on flagpoles or flagstaffs at the same location:
(1) the flags should be displayed on flagpoles or flagstaffs of the same height.
Derek, thanks for the info! Obviously, I'm not a Texan, but I think this account will be fun.
Every state flies their flag at the same height as the American flag. I do not understand how the mythology of Texas being special in this regard perpetuates itself.
Cite, you're correct. www.snopes.com/history/american/texasflag.asp
What are their parties? I don't know them.
Dan Patrick-R Van de putte-D
This is the problem with these state accounts. These questions don't relate to me so your answers will be skewed.
Well pateach, you don't have to partake. I would love to have you along, but if you don't want to join the discussion, that's fine too. :-)
