Democrats: the people that shout we want to help the economy are the same ones that want to tax and regulate it so heavily it's impossible for businesses to compete
There's a difference between regulating it into a standstill, and regulations, say on the banking industry, that would prevent further damage to the economy. It's a matter of degree. Reps want less, yes, but Dems aren't wanting to strangle it either.
I could easily make a hyperbolic statement like reps want to deregulate so much so as destroy the middle class while saying they are creating jobs. Perhaps instead of hyperbole, we could talk actual, specific policy?
