You just found out that your friend Mike routinely cheats on his wife, and lies to her to keep it a secret. She would be devastated if she found out. Does this affect your ability to trust Mike in other matters unrelated to his marriage?

Not really. I don't trust anyone anyway.

Yes, probably. Is this an allusion to Bill Clinton?

Why wouldn't it? Mike's a scumbag.

Yes! Either get a divorce and enjoy your life as a newly single guy or don't cheat. I have ZERO respect for cheaters and think even less of LIARS. I'd think of Mike as a snake and wouldn't be able to trust him at all.

Dude's a snake in the grass and I'd not trust him at all. Heck, if I knew that, I'd never hang out with him.

Salute Lee if you're dishonest in something as important as marriage then you're likely to be dishonest in everything.

Should be absolutely

Unfortunately not everyone views marriage the same way...

11/03/14 1:33 pm

But even if Mike doesn't view marriage the way his wife does, he's still knowingly violating her trust and lying to her.
That says something about mike.

It says something about Mike's views about his wife and marriage - absolutely. I am not condoning his behavior, but my reaction to it would be influenced in large part by how long and how well I know him.

Unless one writes one's own vows when you get married there are things that you promise.

:) some people make those promises and then find justifications for "fudging" it. I honor your adherence to the way it should be, Tops :)

We're no longer friends until he confesses

Not all other matters, but certainly in other matters.

Mike is caught up in sexual immorality much like many Americans. If Mike is dishonest with his own wife, one would have to be a fool to trust him in business.

I would even doubt that "Mike" is his real name.

Yes. I'm wary of anyone who consistently demonstrates a willingness to lie.

I wouldn't trust this individual. A person who lies, and can live that lie, is capable of nearly anything...

It says a lot about someone's integrity or lack thereof so I would be hesitant to trust them completely.
