I hope Brittany Maynard is resting in peace. I have changed my view on the subject of someone terminally ill having the choice of ending their life with dignity. Brittany and her family have my utmost respect.
I agree, and thank you for sharing.
No way. She committed suicide. In what twisted world is that worthy of respect?
Definitely. I hope to someday have a fraction of her grace and courage, and wish everyone had a family as loving and caring as hers.
I agreed with her choice in the right to do it before she did but that was a very nice way to state it.
screw all the people that downvoted this poll
Thanks but I think it's more about me then my poll questions, which is fine. Bring on the haters!
I agree. I can't even imagine having to make that decision. may she RIP
I agree. But I wouldn't have done it the same as her by selecting a day and sticking to it. I couldn't imagine laying in that bed with my loved ones around ready to end my life when I could maybe have a few more good days, or even weeks. I would
wait, and do it as soon as I took a turn for the worse.
She almost backed out of Nov 1 because she said she still felt ok but also had the worst seizure yet a week before where she couldn't even speak. she knew it was getting worse not better and wanted to still be of sound mind to make the decision
She said that in an interview, but the way it played out on schedule makes me think that was just a really smart way to get the media and the nuts with signs to give her family a little space.
Agreed, although I would not make the same choice. Every person should have the right to determine their own death.
I agree, but I doubt my courage to do the same.
Jvc1133; I agree not sure I would have that same courage. I just read an article about a recent trip she and her family went on to the Grand Canyon, shortly after she had her worst seizure. She was out for sometime and lost her speech for several
days. I imagine that may have been proof for her how bad it might get in the future. My thinking has been backwards and selfish on all of this.
It's tough to put yourself in another's shoes,
we do our best, I'm sure you did.
