I agree with Collin. If you want a 10% flat tax, you'd better be prepared to cut a lot of spending.

I'm desperate for huge spending cuts. Mostly in bureaucracy. I can think of several entire departments I'd eliminate entirely. The federal government is far too large. The Founders are rolling over in their graves.

Sure, I want big spending cuts too, but I don't think you realize exactly how big those cuts would be at just a 10% flat tax. At such a low amount we would have to cut spending by over half. That might sound good, but it's not without consequence.

Cutting out the IRS and many other acronym agencies wouldn't hurt my feelings. Let the rest of the world figure out how to cope. Why do we have to support other countries when we're trillions in debt?

Supporting other countries hardly has any effect on the budget. It's so fractional it's irrelevant. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and defense combined are 70% of the budget. That's where the cuts will be

The military industrial complex have a huge budget in the guise of supporting other countries.

Again, what aid that is provided is utterly minuscule when compared to everything else we spend money on. Even if I take the highest estimate, which includes military assistance, foreign aid barely tops 1% of spending. We have other problems.

I figured they were blowing trillions on the war machine.
