Apart from a couple fringe issues the two major political parties in the US are largely the same.
No, there are major policy differences between the parties.
hahahahahaha go on
I see health care, immigration, gun policy, gay rights, abortion, welfare systems, taxes, and education policy are all pretty large issues.
Why do you say they are the same?
what has changed from 2000-2014? I see more government, just in slightly different areas. Less money in my check. They are exactly the same. They crow about certain issues to keep americans entertained at the water cooler but they're the same.
Aubrey they are the same in your life. But they aren't the same for the millions of Americans who were able to access healthcare (people with preexisting conditions, the poor, ect.) they aren't the same for gay people getting married or adopting.
Like, the legislation that lawmakers pass has a real affect on people. A lot of people feel the difference when a Republican or Democrat is in office. Sure, it's not necessarily going to affect your everyday life, because we living in a stable place.
But I think there is a difference when America is at war or not. I think our foreign policy is important. I think the legislation that gets passed can make a difference, even if none of it is disrupting my life.
I feel like people who say that the political parties are all the same are just giving up or are too lazy to research the effects the government has on people.
What would you consider above a small difference? Does a party have to want to dismantle most of the government and lower taxes extremely to be considered dfferent?
If they're so similar then why is the complaint that you hear about most often a lack of bipartisanship?
Not even close
Two sides of the same coin. Biggest similarity between them is neither of them give a single fuck about the interests of the US citizens. Only care about power and advancing their own agendas.
Yes, effectively the same.
Conservative and liberal viewpoints are very different.
But both parties unfortunately grow the government, and in that they are similar.
conservative and liberal viewpoints are different, yes, but these two parties are not, on the whole, as worried about putting these into practice as they are about their own bottom line.
In that they are both about satisfying their sponsors, growing government and infringing on our freedoms? Yes.
They are the same.
i like democrats they give me stuff like this free phone
Twins. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.
more like tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber.
Pretty much they'll take a policy and take an opposing stance on it.
Incorrect. They couldn't be further apart and different.
Name one huge issue they disagree on
Abortion, taxes, national defense. The budget. Etal
Abortion isn't a major legislative issue
They agree that some group should get a tax break
They both are warmongers
And neither actually has plans to balance the budget
Abortion is, the democrats haven't proposed a budget in 6 years.
In order to be an important issue there has to be a chance it will actually change and it wont.
and Republicans haven't proposed a budget that has a chance of passing in years
and their budgets aren't balanced
Dems and Repubs have different views on Abortion, Israel, taxes, size of govt, size of military, forgiven affairs, social programs, how they handle emergencies, to name a few.
Abortion and Israel are fringe issues
and they both believe in big government
and I've seen no difference in their foreign affairs
and dems have done nothing to change the size of the military
lip, like I said, a couple fringe issues. and defense? are you serious? have you seen how many bombs obama has dropped?
common you couldnt be more wrong
Then we differ.
Rebel, democrats are for smaller military. Obama even said as much when he was in a debate with Mitt Romney in 2012.
They may say that, and yet have they done anything about it?
ok common is trolling. noted.
Trolling, I think not.
Lol. How am I trolling? Because I disagree with your"facts"?
Dissent against the libiot theology will not be tolerated.
whoa, common, because the statements you were making are so glaringly contradictory to the events of the past several years. That's why. Smaller military, give me a break.
As far as not really giving a damn about the American people, yes I agree they are the same.
I support movement to change, but as far as voting is concerned, the reality is, we have a two party system.
and what good has it done?
I'm not saying it's good, but it's reality.
War, increased taxes, and less freedom. Same overall policies.
Pretty much, there has been very little difference between the Bush and Obama administration other than the fact that Obama hasn't been as successful at getting us into full scale wars
Be careful, you may be speaking too soon.
Not that he isn't trying. He tried to crowbar us into Syria last year but there was such a backlash against it, this year it looks like he's getting us in there under the guise of it being a limited engaged against ISIS. What a joke.
At least he hasn't lied to get us into war
Not as blatantly ad bush anyway
I've never understood why everyone is so convinced that the Bush administration intentionally misled the American people. It did turn out that the coalition was unable to find evidence of recent WMD production in Iraq, but the intelligence at that
Obummers pretty good at arming Islamist extremists.
time was compelling that the Hussein regime was in the process of doing so. How one infers in such a confident manner that Bush willfully lied has always been a wonder to me.
Especially after two votes in the senate. Says a lot that GW could fool the vast majority of democrats.
bush hates black people but obama is taking care of us
Yeah obummer likes black people so much he's gonna import more illegals to ensure they never get to work again.
we dont need to work we got welfare
