Would you consider the New Deal Coalition to be successful?
It was very effective in spurring the US economy out of the Great Depression and setting us up to be the strongest nation during and after WW2.
Personally, I think it was a massive success.
Successful in it's goals? Sure
Successful for anyone else? No.
it was highly successful in accomplishing the goals it wanted to during it's run. whether those policies were more successful over the long run than not? idk. I think perhaps over the years they began to be treated like a game of telephone.
Successful in regards to politics or policy?
I left that purposely vague but I was thinking more successful as in politically than policy wise (that's another debate altogether IMHO)
