I have about a 30 min. commute to and from school every day. About half the time, I enjoy it as I get some time to relax and listen to music, and the other half I'm just bored. How do you deal with commutes?
30 min is nothing.
I have an hour each way an don't mind it at all, which is nothing in reality.. I have friends that commute two hours each way and longer on bad traffic days.
Yeah I imagine it's something you get used to. I just haven't gotten used to it quite yet!
I view it as "my time". Great ready for the day on the way in. Unwind in the way home. Jam out to some music, drink a cup of coffee, and get ready to face the day.. But I'm an introvert, so that hour does me good.
Books definitely help. also, looking out the window and contemplating life is cool
Yes I love reading, but reading and driving isn't too safe. I will have to look into audio books!
Haha oops. I automatically assumed you meant public transportation commute. In that case, audiobooks are fun!
Nope, no public transportation out here. Just farm highways!
Music, talk radio, think about stuff. I drive a LOT for work (100,000 miles on my service truck in 2.5 years) but I enjoy it. Like yesterday, I drove 260 miles to deliver a piece of equipment because no one else was available to do it.
I moved across the street from where I worked.
Music/ podcast/ books.
I listen to music if I'm alone. I actually enjoy the time to myself.
Well if fire is driving I sleep. But otherwise music
I used to do a lot of audio books...made an enormous difference. Now I just listen to music, mostly.
I do audiobooks and podcasts, too. when my commute was longer, I did language programs.
Oh! Language programs! That's smart.
I listen to podcasts. There is a seemingly infinite number of them so it's not hard to find one that appeals to you.
Books on CD
I like both music and meditation.
I was gonna suggest the same thing. :)
