Christians: Thoughts about Halloween?
Hey bud, I was just in Nashville last week. I wish I had more time there and could enjoy the talent. I didn't go to one venue with crappy music. I'm also a live streamer of Lightning 100. :)
It's the perfect opportunity to give a Gospel tract to children along with some candy.
I grew up loving it. And I was having my kids to church was quite against. Now I am much more relaxed.
Grew up being taught its evil.. But I never looked at it that way.
It's based and still is based on dark things. Not good.
GAH!!!! Why does this have to come up in every internet forum every single stinking year.
*mental health day*
I'll make the argument that if you're a bible-believing Christian, it's probably best to stay away from the presence of evil. Lots of scriptural basis there. Ghosts, goblins, witches, the occult, etc.
Anyone care to retort? :-p
That's pretty much my response to Halloween. I don't give out treats anymore, mostly because it's carloads of older kids going to all the neighborhoods. I mainly ignore Halloween.
I don't get into all the focus on death or darkness. It's fun to see children dressed up and smiling, though.
