WOOHOO! A Mexican judge has ordered the immediate release of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, jailed for 7 months for accidentally crossing the Mexican border with weapons in his vehicle. It's about time!
And now to court-ordered map reading.
Does he get his weapons and vehicle returned?
No thanks to his commander in chief.
Can Fox News shut up about it now?
this is Show of hands not fox news
Greta > God
If God deserved credit, he would have parted a sea to make sure he didn't make a retard-turn to begin with.
There's no proof it was an accident except his own testimony. And even so, when you accidentally commit a crime you still do the time.
I think we should have traded 30 million Mexicans for his release.
So, including US citizens of Mexican decent? That's cold dude, cold.
Those are your words. I mow my own lawn.
You have 2/3s of them in CA alone.
30M is getting close to the pop of Texas. That's a lot of people. Let's trim that back a little.
Ok, 25 mill and our former SOS.
God bless Fox News
I love how they take credit for it.
I bet their bummed that another fox news OUTRAGE!!!! is off the table now.
Good thing our President sent his whole legal team to Mexico, and not Ferguson MO.... Wait! What?
Because American law is Mexican law...
Those Mexican drug lords seem to be doing well with the guns our President provided for them, huh?
Finally. Does he get his guns and car back?
Oh, he'd better!
I hope so. The Mexican government will probably charge them a few thousand dollars for "storage".
Honestly he should just be lucky that they let him go. For someone who smuggled guns over an international border he sure got off light.
"Smuggled" implies intent, Axl. You aren't that dumb.
I'm not the dumb one, I didn't "accidentally" bring an arsenal of weapons over an international border. He says it was accidental. Maybe it was but you can't handle something like that lightly. He is very lucky right now, and should be greatful.
Axl, I didn't mean to call you dumb. But given the sergeant some slack – (1) he has PTSD; (2) he had ALL his belongings with him, which just happened to include his guns; and (3) the only turnaround was poorly marked, and he was forced to cross the
border, after which he IMMEDIATELY and voluntarily declared that he had missed the turn and didn't intend to stay, and that he had weapons in his vehicle. That's not a smuggler. It's a shell-shocked Vet who got lost.
Remember when the Mexican military crossed into the US armed?
Yep. Gee, they must be locked up at GTMO!
Not only crossed... They fired at border patrol agents!
I know, I know...friendly fire doesn't exist. It was a planned transgression!
Are you really justifying them firing at our border patrol?
Justifying? No, explaining why it happened. They are called accidents and they happen.
They may have accidentally crossed the border (though I'm suspicious of that) but that doesn't excuse them then firing on our border patrol when they're clearly in the wrong. That's no accident.
You couldn't pay me to go to Mexico
Don't worry, I'll hold onto your AR-15. ❤️
@CC - No need, this Marine is in WI ;)
I need protecting. You are both so far :(
Great news. I look forward to Obama taking credit.
Even though he totally ignored the WH petition.
History is easily rewritten.
Sad but true!
Thank heaven! It was waayyy past time to let that poor Marine out.
214 days past time.
As POTUS I would have explained the situation and asked nicely to have him released as soon as it happened. If refused, I'd have sent the SEALs. You wanna play hardball? Catch, mother effer.
Good thing you aren't president
Accidentally! The last U-turn was poorly marked and many people missed it. Recently, the sign was enlarged and flashing lights installed, but too late for the Sgt.
I can't believe it took this long. There's something very wrong here when we can't get our troops out of Mexico. I'm glad he's finally home.
For WHAT? He IGNORED the American public's internet petition, despite his GUARANTEE that petitions over a certain threshold of signatures would receive a public presidential response.
hehe I was waiting for some sort of reaction. I really don't know much about this so don't listen to me.
It's OK, Axl, happy to educate anytime! :-D
Greta, you are my woman!
"Thank Greta" refers to FoxNews' Greta VanSusteren, more responsible than any other media person for raising the public's awareness of this young Marine's plight. My vote, of course, is "Thank God!" ✞
Big fan of Greta, but even a bigger fan of God. ;)
As it should be, my friend! ✞
Hey, what do you expect from me tomorrow afternoon? Any ideas you'd personally like me to mention?
Glenn Beck had the counter on his radio show tracking the number of days he was held. So for me, "thank God then Glenn"
Aw man sorry, Tlaney. Just now saw your comment. :/ You did great though!
Fgw, always glad to meet a fellow Glenn fan - and Pat & Stu & Jeffy, and Dana, of course! I always wonder how many of us there are here on SoH! ✞
USA - Thanks. You ran a good meeting. I'm pretty optimistic, though there were no dissenting voices present, so it's tough to predict legislative success. ✞
