Inspired by the Tim Cook debate: How would you feel if instead he had said he was a proud heterosexual virgin, and thanked God for making him able to be that way?
Are there many straight Christian virgins out there considering or committing suicide because their families and society constantly refer to them as abominations?
Do straight Christian virgins routinely get kicked out of their homes when parents
...discover they are straight Christian virgins?
Can straight Christian virgins be fired in many states simply because they are straight Christian virgins?
Are violent acts routinely committed against straight Christian virgins just
...because they are straight Christian virgins?
Were he to fall in love with another straight Christian virgin would he be allowed to marry his partner anywhere in the country?
Don't pretend the two situations are anywhere close to each other.
I didn't mention anything about Christianity. I only mentioned thanking God, because Tim Cook did so, strongly, in his coming-out statement. As far as comparing something to coming out as homosexual goes, try looking at the treatment of women.
While it is true that virgins are not usually persecuted because of their status, like homosexuals they are routinely held up to ridicule by the entertainment industry. They are often nervous about coming-out.
Yes, our country's treatment of women is fairly terrible. I agree, and have forcefully argued that position many times.
Being teased is nothing compared the systematic abuse heaped on the LGBT community.
