Have you ever felt like someone was testing you to see if you would accept a bribe? Yes, this was my week.
Looking at the results again. After 443 votes, over 30% said yes. I'm still surprised it is that high.
Dealing with companies I was often offered gifts to do business with them (which some may consider a bribe), have had women offer sex for a job or a pay raise, and had a few government workers suggest a bribe "could speed things along". I declined.
What is it you do again? :-)
Not to except a bribe. There is this really obnoxious woman in my water aerobics class and I wondered if the club at set up to see how well I dealt with obnoxious people. That was before I knew my boss was too cheap to do that.
I've been tested by Internal Affairs. It was so obvious I had to snicker.
I wish it was internal affairs.
I try to bribe ppl all the time and almost no one goes for it...I find it disgusting that so many ppl will not accept money anymore.
Try chocolate honey
No, but they'd be wasting their time.
I'm to gullible to be aware of what's happening.
My old high school suddenly increased my financial aid, giving me a full ride, when they found out I was transferring. Glad I got the heck out of there.
I was once offered a bribe and boy, it caught me off guard! The guy sat down in front of my desk, I presented him with a contract to sign and out comes a fat envelope full of cash! It was surreal.
I can't even imagine what that would be like.
Mine would be a situation where I would lessen the problem.
Only here! I ask "Would you blow me for a million dollars?". I'll take a nickels worth.
I've never been bribed, but certainly pressured and threatened. Money needn't enter the equation when those in power feel that they can manipulate and control you by other means...
After 33 votes, I'm really surprised that over 40% voted yes. I thought it would be much lower.
Oh, that's not good and must have been uncomfortable.
It sucked. Plus, I'm not the only one my office to feel this way. Another coworker felt the same way with him before.
Yikes! That's a bad week! I hope you "passed the test"!
I haven't felt tested regarding a bribe, but a few weeks ago I got somebody on the phone to was so over-the-top that I swore I was either being punked or my boss was testing me.
I passed. I'm not worried about that. I just got the feeling that if this guy does anything for me that I would feel obligated to do a favor for him. It is really hard to explain.
Not hard to explain...I totally get it. Some people, you just don't want them doing you any favors.
And I get to see him again in 3 months. Yay me. I hope it is the last visit.
The CPA I'm dealing with just makes me feel skeeved out. I swear he was testing me to see if I would be willing to take a bribe to ignore a "few things" this week.
I wasn't comfortable being around him at all.
Yikes! I'm so sorry, cpa. Thank heavens that you get to trick or treat with lil' cpa tomorrow. I hope y'all have fun!
Thank you. I can't wait to get home and see my little guy. The time change made it difficult.
