Is it fair to describe Obama as a "tyrant"?
The thing is if you Obama a tyrant you might as well call many other U.S. Presidents tyrants.
A tyrant?? He would like to be thought of as a tyrant instead of the idiot we now know the man is. GWB even appears smarter than Obama at this point.
A tyranny was British royalty under Henry the VIII.
ofc not . If you said yes, you have no idea what a real tyrant is. Go live in North Korea and then tell me Obama is a tyrant.
But we have to paint Obama as bad! Bill Oreilly said so!!!
No but for real. Calling Obama a tyrant, and then our country's republicans saying they can't find a republican to run that anyone would remotely like = Priceless.
It's hyperbole, but it's fair.
It's the truth.
If you prioritize some of the more controversial policies that have been passed during his tenure like the NDAA section 1021 and the Patriot Act in combination with his record as the least transparent president in history then one can argue he is.
The Patriot Act? that was W.
He signed an extension of the law in 2011.
And it was such tyranny the second time! the first one was cool though.
When did I say I liked it the first time? In fact when did I ever say President Bush didn't employ many tyrannical policies himself?
You didn't. I find partisan tendencies amusing, so I am expressing that with sarcasm.
"Least transparent in history"
Do you not realize if you know all of these things to not like him that it isn't transparent? The fact that they tell you is transparency.
Well they tell fox and CNN and MSNBC and the rich tell you what to do.
No, Rot I'm afraid that's not how transparency is judged. A large part of transparency is based on the amount of censored government files or outright denied access under the Freedom of Information Act, and that reached an all time high last year.
The Obama administration denied FOIA requests 8,496 times last year, which is 57% higher than 2012 and over twice as often as the denials in 2009. Responsiveness to FOIA requests is commonly used to measure the transparency of an administration.
It's a luxury of living in the First World: ignorance of what REAL tyranny is.
Stop it! You're embarrassing yourselves.
Living in a first world country does not tyranny-proof your leaders, and you don't need to be on the level of people like Hitler and Stalin in order to be a
You're awfully loose throwing that term around and cheapening the experience of people who genuinely suffer.
People definitely suffer under tyranny, and that does not deserve to be undermined. But you don't necessarily have to be ruining or ending lives to be a tyrant.
Actually, cruelty is part of the definition.
My family has suffered under tyranny here in the US.
So has mine. But it wasn't under Obama.
This. If you seriously said yes you need to turn off Fox News, read a history book, then crawl out of your cave and go visit a third world country. There are plenty of real tyrants that can provide an education.
I mean my IMMEDIATE family has suffered from tyranny in the US, under the Obama administration.
I don't need to crack a history book; I can REMEMBER.
Are you going to elucidate or just keep us guessing?
Give it time. I'm sure cruelty will become part of Obama's regime soon. As I can see you're still just certain that tyranny can never happen here and that there is no such thing as tyranny that doesn't immediately ruin lives. And just yelling
"Read a history book!!" Is absolutely useless. There is no need because we can see the things being done right now.
And to answer your questions, my minor brother and sister were unreasonably seized against their will, without a warrant. That's just the beginning, but I'm not comfortable going into more detail.
suppressed, I'd guess you were throwing around the"t-word" when it was W.
Anyone see "V for Vendetta"? Remember the surveillance van listening to the populace? Kind of funny in hindsight that W was the one being criticized.
Nobody said America has it bad, what is being said is that America will have it bad soon if the current tyranny continues.
Not in a government with 3 branches
Thing is, during the Obama administration, we don't have a government with three branches. We have a legislator-in-chief.
Don't blame the failures of the other 2 branches on Obama.
I'm not. I'm blaming the fact that he willfully circumvents the constitution and legislates when he is not enumerated that power, on him.
lol, Bush wrote way more executive orders than Obama has. He ended at 291 while Obama is at 193.
Misusing his powers in terms of executive orders and too often seeking unilateral action.
You have no idea what "tyranny" means, do you?
Yes, I do. Abuse of power.
... No. It's not.
But it's ok, you're not supposed to know the actual definition. God forbid you disagree with Fox News.
I want you to look up how many executive orders Obama has executed, and compare that with Bush and Regan. I also want you to look up the word "Tyrant".
And if you truly think that Obama has not tried persistently for bipartisanship, then there is a problem. I bet you think that Obama caused Ebola by an executive order or unilateral support too. Obama isn't a great president, but he is not a tyrant.
It doesn't matter how many executive orders there has been. What matters is what the orders say.
Rota, do you seriously have any other battle cry than "Fox News!!"? For what has to be the 15th time you have pulled that line on me, I don't watch Fox News.
"I bet you think that Obama caused Ebola by an executive order or unilateral support too."
Don't be ridiculous!
But I would note that some Democrats have blamed Republicans for the Ebola outbreak "because they cut CDC money and that's why we don't
Have a cure."
Tyrant? No. Secretive and untransparent, very.
If he's secretive and non transparent, you guys certainly know a ton about him and are always complaining every single day.
He can't even have a cup of coffee without Fox News following him and crying.
Oh please rota, be a little more dramatic. The "cup of coffee" you are referring to, is the slap in the face he gave 2 marines. Obama knew who he would be saluting when he stepped off the craft. He, as the commander in chief, didn't have the decensy
To put the cup of coffee down and give these highly dedicated men, that would take a bullet for him in a heartbeat, a proper solute.
He doesn't even have to salute. Don't give republicans any sign of respect unless it goes extra mile apparently.
And also, please give us examples of his transparency
How about starting with fast and furious
Answer the question
And I'm the one being dramatic "THEYD DIE FOR US! *michele Bachmanns scream in the back ground*
- The next republican attack ad.
Obama had the least transparent administration in US history.
That is your retort?
Fact is, they would die for him. They are US marines. He disrespected them. You are right, he didn't have to solute, but he chose to disrespect them.
So, fast and furious, let's hear it.
Or maybe the IRS scandal? Transparent? Maybe even a smidgen?
The fact you know about Fast and Furious, The NSA, and etc is transparency.
Do you even know what transparency is?They're not going to tell you about police raids.
Republicans doing their natural thing of not knowing what they're talking about.
Dude transparency is when the govt hides shit. They obviously told the media who listened to the press secretary then they spin it. You don't know anything you're talking about.
Literally no one is this stupid, you have to be a troll.
So the presidential press corp also thinks he is the least transparent president they have ever covered. Most of them are very left of center, and voted for him. But they can't get any answers or info. Even with freedom of information requests.
Apparently, you are either this stupid or a troll, rot.
Oh he/she (rota) is a total troll!
The fact that we know about these scandals, is because of republicans in the house. Obama didn't tell us about these
Tell us, do you really believe the garbage that comes out of your mouth?
Eric Holder announced fast and furious republicans in the house don't even know and aren't told of DoJ information... It was secret.
"Dude", when the POTUS claims executive privilege over the disclosure of 15,000+ documents (fast and furious), because they might incriminate him, that is hiding! Thus, no transparent
He has stonewalled EVERY investigation.
Documents released by conservative government watchdog group Judicial Watch—and put forward by Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform chairman Rep. Darrell
Issa (R-CA)—show that an assault rifle purchased as part of Fast and Furious was used in a Phoenix-area crime in July 2013 that left two people wounded.
See, you can't even get your facts straight!!
You really should stop trolling, you are to the point where literally not one person can take you seriously.
Well, maybe there are a few of your followers that worship your rhetoric, but I'm guessing that is a thin crowd.
That was one rifle and after fast and furious was told. Try to look harder.
You can't accept you're wrong and neither can most of your party. You're digging yourself a hole but keep going. I enjoy it.
Actually, it was as many as 500 guns. You are an oddity.
Even if you thought that was true, it's still a very transparent administration. The republicans are part of the administration.
We have two political parties and it's a good thing to call each other out for the people's knowledge.
Like Abu Ghraib
Lol the republicans are not "part" of his administration!
You are a complete joke. What about the executive privilege he claimed on fast and furious documents? You never gave that an answer
He is anything but transparent. Just wait till we have a republican congress, the senate will actually investigate
I'm guessing you are alijia Cummings right hand "yes man"
Oh and let me guess, Chris Chrissy's "bridgegate" was the real scandal?
Liberal stations actually covered that.
Please stop, you're not embarrassing me, but yourself. I'm not arguing with a troll or someone who may really believe the way you do.
But please stop with the 5 words and posting every 5 minutes. Get your point out and move on.
Nah, I'm doing just fine with my views and facts. What I find interesting, is that you "disprove" facts with your opinions. Telling me I am embarrassing myself and calling my a troll, simply shows you are losing this argument.
Let's just recap on Tuesday. The elections may just wake you up to reality,
remember when W. Bush saluted with a DOG IN HIS ARM?? but nooo Fox News didn't go batshit crazy about that. but if it's a coffee cup instead of a dog, nothing could be so disrespectful....
rota, by your logic Nixon was transparent about Watergate because, hey, we know about it. Still want to stand by that idiotic statement?
To be fair Alex, they might could not tell which one was the dog.
I agree, put the dig down, it was a pathetic solute. Last I checked, bush is no longer president, and when my kids say "but dad, he did it too", they don't get away with it.
I get it, since I am anti obama, I surely must have been a Bush fan?
Will you give a republican the pleasure of all these excuses you give Obama? Will you consistently justify everything he/she does? Doubtful.
No but there are plenty of other things that are not very nice that one could say about Pres. Obama.
No. Going by number of executive orders, Bush and Reagan were far more "tyrannical" than Obama.
Is that the only sign of a tyrant? EO's?
What's your supposed signs of tyranny? Caring about people's healthcare or feeding the poor?
Obamas no where close to a dictator.
Fidel Castro fed the poor and provided health care to everyone. Was he a tyrant?
I don't know enough about Communist Castro to say. I know he required all Cubans get free internet and since he did free healthcare he sounds like a nice guy. I've heard he's bad and Cuba is under US embargo but I don't know what for other than CMC.
Go live under an actual tyrant and then get back to me.
You like Obama? Why don't YOU go live under a real president and get back to me.
We have a president. He was elected by the majority. We live in a democracy. If you don't like it, quit being a pussy and leave.
I heard the Middle East likes to put the loudest mouths in charge, and they don't like minorities either! Go there!
Rot: we live in a republic.
No we live in a Federal Constitutional Democratic Republican nation, If you wanted the full name.
Its childish. They lost the election, get over it.
Has it always been this bad when a democrat is elected? It's just horrible griping and exaggeration of the smallest issues possible.
Our economy is doing great and growing and I don't know why republicans don't like him other than him being Obama.
Same reactions happen when a republican is in office.
I'm out of touch when it comes to politics, but I'm sure he's made some bad decisions. What people can't get over is that everyone does.
There has been no perfect president. People call him a dictator and a tyrant and think they sound clever or something, but he's neither, and this poll shows that most people believe that.
I'm not a democrat, I don't blindly support Obama, but I know he's not as bad as some childish people whine about him being.
I don't see a reasonable basis for it.
Nope, he makes tyrants look good!
Care to provide evidence?
Only man in history who can lie, without moving his lips!
I meant evidence, not some "clever" insult at him.
