Do you frown upon people who win the lottery and quit their jobs?

Why the fuck would I? Good for them. That seems like a logical decision. Depending on the amount won of course.

Only if they don't win enough to actually quit their jobs.

Winning the lottery is a temporary liberation from the capitalistic chains that bind us all. I'd be surprised if somebody didn't take advantage of such an opportunity.

Yes. I've been playing heavily lately but I think I'd get another or keep my job.

You need something in life to work for and my family never has had a ton of money. I'd rather my goals be a new car in a few weeks instead of a fighter jet in 2 days.

Plus there's a guide if you ever win the lottery what to do, you need 2 different lawyers, a financial advisor, and they say don't quit your job. I don't remember why but it said that.

I'm guessing that you don't quit your job for 2 reasons. First, you still need money until you actually receive the winnings. Second, you still need something to do until you decide what you are going to do with your time.

Keeping your job means staying in your current routine.

It's more likely 2, I read as soon as you win, you can get a ton of loans.

I'm not surprised to hear that.

I've heard where people go to the Cash Now places to sell future payments.

No. Why would I?

Personally I'd give reasonable notice at my workplace and offer to stay long enough to help train my replacement. But it's an individual decision.

Only if I worked with them and had to take up the slack until they found a replacement because they quit without notice.

I am happy for them. They don't have to deal with the daily grind anymore and can really start enjoying life.

Nope, I'd do the same. I do, however, frown on people who won the lottery and then proceed to squander it all. Like, you can go into massive debt without winning the lottery, let me have the money instead and it'll save you a step.

I would quit so quickly I might get whiplash. Good for them.

No, assuming they've won enough where immediate retirement is feasible and they invest it properly.

Haha you would. I love it.

The reason I say that is because 50+% of lottery winners go broke in a few years. So if someone wins the lottery, quits their job, and then has financial issues, I definitely frown upon that.

Does seem a bit ridiculous. You are very financially aware... I'm way impressed

No, I would probably do the same. But, I would wait until the end of the school year.
