I work in what's called a show kitchen. We have 3 chef tables designed to have the perfect view of an ocean sunset on one side, and behind the scenes of all the cooking on the other. Ever had a job where you were on display while working?
Event set-up. People are parading through all day examining your work, checking on progress, making minor changes to the original plan. It's especially fun on a ladder 17' up in a tent.
I'd love to watch you or any other good chef cooking. I'd be one of them hanging around watching and taking pics and bugging you with how-to questions. You'd end up calling security to have me removed.
Nursing, for sure. Often anxiously and critically. But also often teaching patients and family members while doing something like dressing changes, etc.
Usually we won't really know until after service unless it's a real doozy, but that rarely happens. I get little ones all the time and find them when I'm changing.
No one ever called me frightening before. I sort of like it. What did you envision? The truth is that I let my cats use me for a pillow. I have one sleeping with his head on my foot right now.
I did when I worked at Starbucks. People really like to tell baristas how to do their jobs and they'll really get in their faces to lean over the counter and watch. It was pretty obnoxious but your job sounds cool!
Exactly. Those 3 tables are even raised so they can see better. Lots of Ooos & ahhs when any of use cook with liquor. Burning off the alcohol makes a nice flame. When I use cognac in the caramel on the bread pudding, for example. Pretty tasty too.
Here's your chance to refine the technique and make a name for yourself in the annals of cookery. And make some people happier. Who cares if the tail is straight anyway? It will taste the same - wonderful!
Not sure why this poll is being voted down like it is. Especially without a comment as to what is wrong with it. I don't care about the rating, just curious to the problem.
This is what it looks like when people don't like you, or are jealous, but are too passive aggressive so say anything. It must be pretty sad to be them.
Not at all. I know there are a handful of people who have a problem with me. It just disappoints me that they don't have the courage to voice their issues. I've never backed down from a grownup conversation on here.
Not unless something bad happened. That is, everything was recorded, but nobody ever looked unless there was a problem. But if there was, everybody and his brother picked apart every word and decision looking for somebody to point a finger at.
Luckily for me, the sunset happens before it get real busy. I usually can take a minute to look. Makes me think of my girl, every time. This view is from the kitchen, and one of those tables I'm talking about...
Well able to be seen isn't the same as being watched. Stocking clerks can be seen, but no one stands there and watches them do their job. Cept the stoners at Walmart at 3am.
