I don't see me siding with the socially intolerant, under any circumstances.

If it's a truly democratic movement then it will be tamed by moderation once elections begin.

Neither. I support neither a monarchy nor the tyranny of the majority. I am my own and not the property of any God or government.

Gold over black an-cap flag in the profile pic says it all. I belong to no man or God or king.

Sadly the King.
A radical and socially intolerant liberal agenda we don't want or need.

Benevolent dictatorship is far and away the best form if government there is.

Interesting how so many people on the right, especially business leaders, wanted the United States to overthrow FDR & install a fascist dictator for a lot of the same reasons mentioned in the comments here. The coup was organized but not attempted.

The key word for me was "intolerant." Ugh.

I assumed by "radical and socially intolerant" you meant right-wingers that I'd probably get along with fairly well, so I voted "democracy." :o)

Actually I was "inspired" by Assad, in a way, though few will say he's benevolent, but QUITE a few will say the rebels aren't the good guys either.

He was fairly benevolent before the initial riots began.

And weren't at least some of the rebels we supported ISIL?

Yes, and so are some of the "moderate" rebels we continue to support today, although they probably don't belong to actual ISIS, they are radicalized as well and always have been.

Whether by mistake or not, some US arms did end up in the hands of ISIS militants, months before they expanded into Iraq.

I wouldn't want democracy at all cost, democracy has become something like an idol for us. If a country runs fine with a different system, okay.

I agree, with the caveat that if the dictator grew oppressive I'd switch sides immediately.
