I am standing in line at a store and I just watched the woman in front of me rip open a bag of candy, start chomping down on it and feeding some to her son before paying for it. Should I be having a problem with this or do I just need to get over it?

As long as they pay for it, it's okay

I'll do that from time to time. I always pay before I leave :-)

A lot of people do that. It's not stealing if they pay before leaving. Employees don't care either, I worked in a grocery store for 4 years.

I've done that before. Grabbed a soda from the fridge and started drinking it while I'm waiting in line. As long as you're paying for it, it shouldn't be an issue.

If it's one price per bag, who cares? If they're paying by tmm weight, that's akin to stealing and I'd be irritated if it was more than a piece or two.

Perhaps they're hypoglycemic.

If they're paying for it why does it bother you?

I'm thinking it doesn't belong to you until you pay for it. Plus we were in a clothing store that happened to have candy there. They didn't act like they needed candy. However a lot of people think my stance is unreasonable so I am probably wrong.

Depending on my mood at the time, I may prompt her .

As long as they pay its no problem. It's the people eating a banana or grapes or whatnot that get to me - how are they gonna pay for that?
