Is FCKH8, the group behind the pro-feminist video featuring little girls using the "F-Word" as they regurgitate feminist hyperbole, a non-profit women's rights group or a for-profit T-shirt company that exploits social justice issues to make money?

It's no different than companies that exploit people's religious faith to make money.

MrMilkdud
10/28/14 5:58 am

Does that make it ok somehow?

FacePalm That Trick Never Works
10/28/14 2:57 pm

But I don't see any polls about that :)

You should make one. I suspect a lot of people won't differentiate between someone opening a Christian bookstore because they believe in it and also need to make a living, and someone schilling Christian books to make money.

Sure, some people made this about language, but we both know better, don't we? It was about getting attention to sell t-shirts.
Did you buy one? The owner of that company is probably trying to save up for a new pool and could use the help.

They're for-profit. They never claimed to be non-profit activists.

MrMilkdud

You're right. They didn't.
But a lot of times people assume these groups are altruistic.

"Regurgitate feminist hyperbole".

And the liberals sure wouldn't help me. Unless I left my Bible at home, that is.

That's right. You get lost in a foreign country with a gun or a bible and you're on your own.
Get caught dressed like the queen of England, making out with your gay lover near the Kabaa and they'll send seal team 6 in to rescue you.

Stated, "FCKH8.com is a for-profit company". At the same time, it seems to be foisting itself upon multiple agendas: "pro-LGBT equality, anti-racism and anti-sexism". Why limit profits to focusing on one cause??
Mo' causes, is mo' betta money! :D

Disgusting people that should be arrested for child abuse.

How is that child abuse?

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 12:37 pm

Because that's what it is.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 12:40 pm

Ah, I see. You have no justification for your incorrect statements.

gonzoboy Arizona
10/27/14 12:48 pm

SFLiberal, child abuse does not have to be narrowed to any one specific act, and more accurately can be applied broadly. Please watch this video (please forgive me, folks), and maybe you'll understand cowboy's point here.

I've watched the video and it's not child abuse. Parents sign consent forms for children to be in videos like this.

gonzoboy Arizona
10/27/14 1:45 pm

Fair enough. My point was not that you agree, but understand. MrMilkdud, cowboy have daughters in the age range of these girls. Some fathers will find this abusive, or inappropriate at LEAST. You are not in that camp, and I respect your opinion.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 1:52 pm

I don't respect anyone that wants to harm children to push their political agenda.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 1:54 pm

Children are frequently used to make political statements. The only reason you are against this and call it abuse is because you disagree with feminism.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 1:56 pm

I disagree with child abuse. You obviously don't care about child abuse because you like their agenda.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 1:58 pm

I fail to see how it is child abuse. Please explain.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:02 pm

I know you do. You're too worried about the agenda.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:06 pm

The kids wanted to be in the video and the parents approved, so there's no abuse involved.

If the parents forced their kids to be in the video, then it would be abuse, but there's no evidence of that being the case.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:07 pm

Those kids wouldn't have put on such a great act if they didn't want to be in the video.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:12 pm

Yeah... The abuse of children, to push a political agenda, should be criminal.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:15 pm

You didn't address my point.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:17 pm

I get it. You're fine with child abuse. I'm not surprised.

gonzoboy Arizona
10/27/14 2:19 pm

But SF, 7-10 year old girls DO NOT pick up the want ads looking for acting work. There're MANY things children would like to do, but THEY don't have discretion, discernment, wisdom. Sometimes, parents are also lacking in these...

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:25 pm

So if they want to drink, or smoke, or do drugs, they should let them, huh? Nice parenting skills...

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:29 pm

Gonzoboy, it's normal for a kid to be interested in acting and for a parent to see a want ad for child actors, ask their kid if they're interested in it, then give their child permission to be an actor/actress.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:30 pm

Cowboy, you know damn well that has nothing to do with this conversation.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:31 pm

It's child abuse. That's what we are talking about.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:32 pm

How am I supposed to know where you draw the line if you think this abuse is ok?

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:33 pm

And what acting? It's just little children screaming the F word to push a political agenda. That takes no talent whatsoever.

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:40 pm

Last I checked political speech was protected under the constitution, so I'm not sure what you're complaining about.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 2:45 pm

The obvious child abuse.

gonzoboy Arizona
10/27/14 2:52 pm

SF, there are many folks that find this language foul, vile, and abusive speech, and that's when it comes out of the mouths of adults! Parents can encourage their children's interests, without compromising the values they want to impart, IMHO...

SFLiberal
10/27/14 2:57 pm

It just says that inequality is more offensive than the word fûck. It's no big deal.

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 3:00 pm

I know. Child abuse is no big deal to you.

gonzoboy Arizona
10/27/14 3:00 pm

Again, I respect the Right to everyone having the freedom to arrive at/express their opinions. Our opinions differ here, SF. I can't imagine a daughter of mine being in that video. Yet, I wouldn't think of stifling her. Parenting, gonzo-style. :)

cowboy Here and There
10/27/14 3:27 pm

My guess is that there are no fathers to guide these children. All they have is their bat shit crazy moms. Poor things. Next stop, Jerry Springer....

FacePalm That Trick Never Works
10/28/14 4:20 am

Cowboy, I really am puzzled as to why you are calling it abuse. In all seriousness, and without just repeating "because it is", would you elucidate for me? I am genuinely curious. Do you think it's exploitation?

cowboy Here and There
10/28/14 4:23 am

It's little girls, and a boy dressed as a girl, screaming profanities. What don't you get? It's clearly abuse. Are you that insensitive? These are children. Our future. Get it?

FacePalm That Trick Never Works
10/28/14 4:52 am

I get that screaming profanity at a child is abuse. I am not convinced that allowing a child to use profanity is abuse... Although if you believe it to be exploitative or neglectful, I could understand why you might see that as abusive.

cowboy Here and There
10/28/14 4:56 am

Those kids have no chance at life. It's sad.

SFLiberal
10/28/14 8:32 am

Cowboy, if you're genuinely concerned about future generations, then reduce your carbon pollution so they can have a clean environment to live in.

Al Gore pollutes more than anyone. The Earth is fine. Children are our future and our best investment.

Then show support for the right to an education rather than wanting to make it harder for kids to go to school with your voucher crap.

cowboy Here and There
10/28/14 8:44 am

Your anti-choice stance is stifling education.

SFLiberal
10/28/14 8:50 am

Your vouchers only benefit rich families.
