John Brown was a terrorist whose goal was to steal enough military weapons to arm slaves and start a race war in the 1850s. Abolitionism was the most noble cause, but this guy was the Osama Bin Laden of Kansas.

John Brown is one of my favorite Americans ever. The dude committed to his principles, and he had good ones at a time when pretty much everyone else was an awful slave-owning or slave-condoning abomination.

Yeah I like to think I inherited some of his social justice streak. I suspect that you had a long line of roman politicians in your ancestry ;)
