Actually I do x country basketball track and judo and still have never sprang my ankle I think I'm active enough

Multiple times, mostly from playing basketball. One time it was pretty bad and I was on crutches for a few weeks after.

I had a pretty bad one, I was running and didn't see a ditch in the ground my ankle turned way too far. For a week I walked like a limping animal, at the slowest pace

Right ankle probably 5 times over the course of my life playing basketball, never the left ankle.

Same! Fractured it once too and sprained like 3 times. Now it clicks when I walk sometimes.

Yes, but not badly.
My husband though... he has once, and did it "proper." Sprained it (3rd degree), but also tore some ligaments, two different fractures, and a partially torn Achilles. Almost two months and still can't work normally bc of it.

I have three times. One time I was running and I looked to the side because I was in a gym and basketballs and stuff was flying everywhere and my foot hit the wall when I tried to jump over something and twisted. Another time I fell down stairs and

There was one other time too...but it was more of a bad twist. There was a depression in the baseball field at a camp I was at, and when I came in from the outfield to catch a ball, one of my feet landed in it and one on level ground.

Needed an they gave me an aircast to be safe, but I got over it relatively quick. Nothing like it skate incident.

I have to say, skating in general will do wonders for ankle issues, though. I haven't rolled an ankle since I started skating. It'll really strengthen the ligaments, so you're less likely to roll or sprain. I highly recommend it, used to roll a lot.

Yes. Caught an edge doing a heel turn at center ice during some pickup hockey back in the spring.

But I was back skating 2-3 weeks later simply by keeping it iced and elevated whenever I wasn't walking between classes.

Oh, and of course by using a compression wrap. That always helps.

Looked like a baseball was shoved under the skin at first, though. Couldn't skate off the ice by myself, needed a ride back to my dorm room and an elevator key to get up, couldn't walk up the stairs.

Yep. My foot bent backwards then to the side in soccer. I was on crutches for a week and a half, because it was a really bad sprain with a hairline fracture on the bone.

Loads of inversions twists/rolls, and one actual inversion sprain. Most recent was an eversion sprain. That šhit sucks!!!!

Yes. Both. Because I have weak hips, my ankles are almost always affected when running because of the weight my hips don't carry.

It's been a while, but yes. It takes surprisingly little to mess it up, like something as minor as a pine cone rolling out from underfoot.

I love playing basketball, to the point of not staying away when I had no business playing. I've had sprains, on top of sprains. Doctors have told me I would've been better off, experienced less pain, and healed quicker, if I had BROKEN my ankle! :-/

I have really weak joints, particularly my ankles. In grade school, we would have to do a mile run - 3 laps on the choppy grass field - for gym. My ankles were prone to giving out, causing several minor sprains.
