You may have different opinions, depending on the topic (think healthcare, gay marriage, abortion, gun laws, taxation etc) whether we need more or less government intervention, but overall, you think we are better off with...
In all those cases we need a lot less government.
Your list is all stuff that states can/should do. The federal gov has only a few enumerated duties
A lot of what we have is there for a reason and for the most part what we have is comprehensive. I think more importantly we need to revise what we have and try and make it more effective. With the intent to decrease in size cause $$$.
We need less and more personal responsibility and accountability.
That's all fine and dandy but that's on the people. If I were in the government I'm mostly focused on what I can directly control i.e.. the government.
Wouldn't need more if people didn't think they were above the law.
Less so that there are less taxes needed and more money in my pocket
I think we need less, actually, insofar as we need to get rid of every single corporate-sponsored regulation on the books, ditch basically 100% of all business subsidies, and then simplify the shit out of what's left. When add more where it counts.
Great start and great answer.
Less is more. The government should intervene as little as sensible without causing anarchy. Free market, and abstain from moral guidelines and laws of conduct. Obvious crimes need to be dealt with of course.
"How can we solve this with more freedom?"
The question is the answer :)
