There is no superiority to be had. Classical liberals were the best we had during the Civil War era. Social liberals are the best we have now. In a few decades, ppl will be complaining about some new title of liberal, because there's always someone

who looks backwards and says "things were better X years ago," never realizing that the reason we got from feudal tyranny and theocratic overlords to whatever we had X years ago was because of the tireless efforts of whatever liberals they had then.

And then there's the real twist: whatever was liberal several decades ago is, by definition, conservative day. There's a reason we call them 'progressives' - because they're the people who aren't happy with what we had. Conservatives want to go back.

Way better than I would have said it. It's just not a matter of intellectual superiority.

Conservatives used to be called liberals.

Classical Liberals were smart in their times, but we've advanced past that now. Abe Lincoln is a good example of a Classical Liberal. The Nordic Nations ran by social democrats are examples of today's social liberals. Though there's been horrible

Examples as both as well. I guess it just depends on the context.
