I admit it, I voted for Obama twice. First time because he seemed like a breath of fresh air, second time because he wasn't Romney. I'm just curious if anyone else who voted for him is as disappointed as me at the way his reign turned out?
The good news is I dint vote for him, bad news you did, try to do better.
Yes, I am disappointed he didn't fight harder for the principles he believed in like immigration reform. He is a good man but a poor leader. A good leader fights for his principles. The U.S.A. disappoints me most. We are a bitter, hate-filled nation.
Yes, same story for me. I'm satisfied that disappointing as it has been, it was the correct choice the first time, and the only choice the second time.
I would never have voted for him (Because I believed what he said he would do) and I am even more disappointed that I was not wrong.
I originally voted for Obama in the last waning days of my libertarian years. The decision, for me, came down to bankrupting the country through eternal warfare overseas or through trying to provide socialist programs to Americans and illegals.
Yes, that's how I put it at the time.
Between those two options, I figured it was better for the country to go down in flames trying to make people's lives better rather than killing people.
So, my original vote for Obama wasn't cast out of
...optimism, but deep pessimism.
Since then, I have done a lot more research into what socialism actually is, rather than what the Mises Institute, Fox News, and Heritage said it was.
By the reelection campaign I was fully in the camp of the
...Democrats. At that point I had even been identifying myself as a Democrat to other people for awhile.
I didn't have any delusions about Obama. He's a politician. Do I wish he was more progressive? Do I wish he was the socialist FNC says
...he is? Yes to both.
But he's not. He's a moderate national candidate that can only win through broad appeal, and socialism, for now at least, is unelectable.
I wish he cared more about NSA spying, and drone strikes, and Gitmo, but he
...has run the calculus and has positions to be untenable, and like most politicians, has moved away from those issues.
It's sure be nice if people remembered that Obama is a politician.
I voted for him twice and I'm pretty satisfied, actually.
A lot of idiots voted for a man who had no experience in running a paper route, much less the government. I voted for Romney because he was the most qualified. I didn't need a breath of fresh air...just experience.
So after one term as president already under his belt, how was Obama less qualified than Mitt?
He's qualified now. Only it's too late to fix the mess he has made. We had a pretty good health care system in the past. Now the Affordable Heath Care is not so affordable and homosexuality is an acceptable form of behavior.
Had to bring out the bigotry? Either way "I voted for Romney because he was the most qualified" so now you back peddling and saying that Obama was qualified enough? Also, I'm not sure if you know this but the conservative SCOTUS ruled Obamacare
as constitutional. Now they are quietly going to allow everyone the right to marry. I know that scares you, just like allowing interracial marriage scared your ancestors. Good thing progress marches on, even without your hate.
I didn't vote for him.
Well, I think Obama overreached and created too big expectations with his change mantra. Maybe if he hadn't created that kind of blind optimism people wouldn't be disappointed.
www.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/us/politics/20text-obama.html?pagewanted=all <-- that's funny. There's at least seven times in his first inaugural address that Obama says we're going to have to *work.* Everyone I knew understood it at the time.
We didn't so much have blind optimism as we had blind pessimism -- from day one, the conservative media machine made absolutely sure that the only thing half the country heard about was BHO's failures. His many, many successes have gone unmentioned.
Yes axl, I have already humiliated myself on SoH by admitting I voted for him twice and for the same reasons you mentioned.
And lip if you see this, don't you dare say a thing about it!
I as well, but I don't feel humiliated by it. Things have gone sour in ways yes, but if was him v Romney all over again I would vote the same way.
I hope you don't make the same mistake concerning your eternity.
We won't, Glockman.
I have glockman, my vote is for Lucifer.
EB, I voted for GW Bush twice.
Cite- that's the first thing someone has said to me, that's actually made me feel better! Thank you! :-D
Hell no I didn't vote for him. I will vote against Mrs. Clinton if she runs.
Didn't vote for him, because I couldn't vote in the first election and in the second one he already had California's vote and I was for anyone bit Romney so I went third party.
Have you seen Nathan's poll about the SoH user at Walmart?
Please, always chose third party.
Y'all are falling for the media hype. Obama has been a hell of a President. pleasecutthecrap.com/obama-accomplishments/
Yeah, for Isis, and red China.
I didn't get very far in the list when I saw prevented a depression and improved the economy. While this is true short term it remains to be seen how bad the backlash may be as a result of the bailout.
He is beholden to his corporate masters the same the last dozen or so presidents have been. While I agree with universal healthcare, a tax and mandate is horrible and only stands to really benefit the insurance companies. The drone strikes are
highly illegal and creates more terrorists than it kills. He doesn't have the backbone to close gitmo. Or end the war on drugs.
There is no right to universal health care. It's just redistribution of wealth as well as eugenics.
Universal health care is literally the opposite of eugenics.
Really? It's gonna Cost too much to care for little Billy. It's going on every where it's tried.
Hitler had his supporters too....right up to the very end.
Really, you feel the need to be so ignorant that you compare Hitler to Obama? How are they even remotely the same? Oh wait I get it, Barak has a "r" in his name and so does Hitler. Communists! Dude, seriously move on from your blind hate...
Do you have a source for that, lip?
Aranathi, ignore Lip. He's been flirting around trying to troll people for a week or so now.
Really the British national health service?
I didn't vote for him, only because I feel that voting for the lesser of two evils is a wasted vote. That being said, I had high hopes for him in his first term. By his second term I had lost the illusion, but I'm damn glad Romney didn't win.
I voted for Barack. It was either him or Romney, and Bryce Harper's the only Mormon I wanted in DC.
Nothing like poking your eye out to spite your face.
Haha the national? Agreed I still dont regret voting for him over Romney.
Well, come on. I could be dumb and say something like, "I voted Barack because I never vote tea party."
Jon Huntsman seems like a reasonable mormon and would have been more than happy to cast my vote for him had the republicans nominated a respectable candidate.
You could say you hits yourself in the head so much after the truck ran over me and the aliens probed me voting for a terrorist anti American Kenyan looked good. Just saying.
But that would be even stupider.
And I have no problems with Mormons, it's just a dumb joke.
I had a major problem with that Mormon(Romney) for president. Honestly anyone who is a fanatical religious person.
Meh that's what they said about the first rapist in chief, jfk. That crazy catholic. Fool.
Mormons aren't really fanatical. We're just like the majority of practicing Christians. I wish we weren't as prejudiced against.
No it's just libiots hate folks with religion, besides Harry Palms reid professes your faith.
I'm not being prejudice against Mormons, just Mitt Romney. Sorry if I made it seem that way.
Yeah he is, Mitt ran against the dear leader. Liar.
...I'd just like to make it clear that I don't really hate anyone.
Then your less than a tool.
Hate, in moderation is a good thing.
Kim as I said above, I would have certainly cast my vote for Jon Huntsman. I still would vote for him over any other republican candidate I've seen recently.
I never vote communist. The only good thing about Barry is now carter looks smart.
You are a sheep. Keep listening to your fear machine.
My fear machine is common sense. Now drink the koolaide.
You clearly have no "common sense" though. You are spouting the same ignorant dribble that exposes you for the tool you are. Now go join cowboy in hate orgy.
Silly rabbit, I don't hate you I view you as an useful idiot. An example of why liberals should be accorded all rights of roe v wade.
If you're under 30 it's ok as long as you learn from your mistakes.
I was under 30 the first time
Age isn't an indication of anything other than how long you've been alive. A person over 30 can be as dumb and immature as a 6 year old.
That would be true assuming you never learn from life experience.
When it comes to human intelligence, you can never assume!
